I aim for anywhere between 1650-1850 per day depending on how hungry my body feels that particular day. I lose one pound a week doing this. I also have one "high" day per week which is usually around 2000-2100 calories. I save it for days like this coming Friday when my S-I-L is coming in from Florida and we are going to eat at someone's house...I still try to watch my calories as much as I can on high days, and I am very careful what I eat if I don't know how many calories are in something!

I'm sure I could lose more every week if I reduced my calories, but I enjoy where I am at and I exercise most days, so I feel good about it!

Totally know what you mean! I've been counting only a few weeks, but I was JUST commenting to someone how I couldn't believe that I actually enjoy it. It's like a puzzle ("If I add this, might I have to cut back on something else? How much?, etc.")

Also, I agree, what a difference in making me aware of what and how much I'm putting in my body. Getting portion control I'm comfortable with is more my focus than weight loss (though I'm loving that, too!) Yay for calorie counting.

I am going to start counting calories myself. I'm kinda scared, because one of the reason's I joined Diet to go was because I seem to run out of ideas for things to eat. Then I'd get bored. In addition, It's just me and my 17yr old son. I wonder how to make meals with variety without wasting food. Any suggestions?

Congrats to everyone on their success thus far.

I pretty much just make chicken for me and my husband. I make pretty much the same things every week:

*Chicken, mozzarella cheese, and spinach pizzas on Flatout wraps
*Baked chicken breast dipped in barbecue sauce and shake-n-bake
*Baked chicken breast topped with salsa and a little cheese
*Chicken tortillas with guacamole and onion

I've also made meatloaf substituting turkey meat for red meat. And I eat a lot of veggies with dinner, too. I'm a creature of habit, so I'm lucky that I don't get bored with food very often.

Those are some great ideas. The wraps I can use for different things. Thanks for the ideas.
