What scale do you have?

  • My scale is driving me insane! Its not digital and it goes from one thing to another even if I move it an inch! It can go up 5 POUNDS, if I move it. That's not right! I'm going to get a new scale and need suggestions so I can stop stressing about the one I have LOL
  • I used to have a scale like that...drove me bonkers!!!

After a very diligent search in stores and on line, with an even more diligent search of reviews, I went with the Tanita BC-533. It was a little pricey (about $100), but it's the most accurate scale (digital) that I've ever owned. You can get on and off 10 times and you'll get the same reading. Amazon has it the cheapest...I think you can get the same scale now for about $70bucks.

Any which model/style you decide to go with...I'd definitely recommend going with ANY Tanita scale...they have the best track record for making reliable and accurate scales. Hope this helps.
  • Thank you so much! Off to look at amazon
  • i have a healthmeter from walmart, i don't remember the price, i would say no more than 20 or 30, but i bought it probably 5 years ago, as far as i know it is accurate, other people weighing at our house, said it is right on track with what their scale or their dr scale says, it does weigh different than the wii, but i think that has a lot to do with the wii.

    LOVE IT!

I don't go for the scales with all the bells and whistles, I don't believe a scale can accurately tell me my body fat% or water % or anything like that. I am only interested in accurate, consistent measurements of my weight. I tried all the scales in the store and this one was the best. It gives me the same reading every time, and it looks nice in my bathroom. What more could I ask for?

It does not go down the .2 lb but that doesn't bother me. I just wanted one that went to .5...so if you are looking for something to show all those little ups and downs, I guess you'll want a different one. Personally, I woudl rather not see the tiny daily changes. If I want that, I can weigh at the gym.

    Good luck in your search!
  • I use the wii I hope i am not making a mistake doing this?
  • no im sure the wii is fine, it still measured losses and gains accurately, mine just seemed to be a pound or two different from the scale, which could be because of carpet, even with the feet on it..
  • Hi Dawn! *waves

I have a crappy one that we've had for YEARS that I no longer really use. I always use my Wii to weigh myself. I have been looking at getting a digital scale and want a good one without spending a ton of money. I've been looking at a Taylor scale at Target but I don't want it to crap out on me in a few months, kwim.

I have a healthmeter too from walmart. It was around $25 I think and it reads down to .2 - I also have another cheapy from walmart but when my husband started dieting, we needed one that read higher weights so now we have both and once in awhile I hop on each one to see if they are the same and they always are. So they might be cheaper but I'd say they are pretty accurate.
  • I bought a Weight Watchers digital scale from Walmart a few years ago. I love it! Every so often I do put a 5lb weight on it to check it, but i've never had any problems! good luck finding the right one for you!
  • Stupid analog scale. I'm getting a digital one soon though.
