Subway type bread any brands out there

OK I was looking at the subway nutritional stuff and the 6 inch bread range from 71 calories to 88. Now I would love to make my own subway sandwiches at home. Does anyone know of a name brand sub type bread out there that is that low in calories.

I think you are looking at the weight in grams, not the calories.
Their lowest calorie 6" is 210 calories

keziah23 my bad just looked again. Makes me wonder know how they can boost low calorie subs when the bread is so high. But still looking for a low cal sub type bread

yep your right, oh well will look at the store tomorrow and see if I can find something that is lower in calories. I know the lite hot dog buns are lower calorie and around 70 to 80. may get some of those.

Healthy life bread, its not sub type bread, but they have buns (hotdog and hamburger) that are 80 calories each, and their regular breads are 34-40 calories per slice. There is also a wonderbread light and a sara lee light but I don't recall the calories off the top of my head.

You can also make your own bread which will be better for you because it has no preservatives and you can control the ingredients.

Nice bread recipe, similar to mine. I use to bake a ton, many years ago when my husband was alive and kids still at home. If fact my son mention to me not long ago if I could make bread for him. I did it like you, no bread machine here, although I do have one that I used to bake sweet breads in. Now that I'm getting back into cooking, to loose this extra weight will need to pull down my old cook book I wrote stuff in. plus all the news paper recipes I clipped out.

Again thanks so much for you time and responding so quickly. Shoot now I have a hankering for raisin bread. lol
