How Long.....

I currently weigh about 266, ive been tracking my calories (this is week 3) and I am eating at or just below 1500 calories daily. I spend at least 1hr - 2hrs doing strength training and (20 min cardio) at least 3 times a week. How long would you give this range of calories to show results on average? Im not sure if im under or over but I know compared to what I was doing (working a desk job 10 hours a day and being tired all the time) this is an improvement. I drink at least 8 glasses of water daily and dont drink soda. I am doing something wrong? :?:

It looks like that you have been loosing weight by looking at your profile.About 2 pounds if you have been doing it for 3 weeks? If that's true, you are doing it the right way, even if you think you should loose more. I can feel your pain of wanting more off a week. Good luck, you are on the right track.

Thank you... I guess slow and steady will have to be my goal. Looks like you are doing awesome. Keep up the good work.

I don't think you're doing anything wrong, but I would give it a little while longer and then I would INCREASE (yes, INCREASE) your calories and see how that works out.

Because you're starting off at a high weight, your body may in "shock" about how much your exercising and limiting your calories and needs to adjust.

As time goes on, you'll have to see the quality of those calories and see if that's affecting your weight loss.

Good luck!

The other thing to remember (which was a hard lesson for me) is that even when you're not losing weight, the fact that you are developing healthy habits is awesome, because you'll need those skills when you finally reach your goal weight. Even in maintenance, you'll have to watch your calories and exercise.

I think you are doing great. I started off eating 1,800 cal first and it worked but slow. I always yo yo dieted before and got very fast results and got nowhere at the end so this time I said that I do NOT want to loose more than 6lb a months (1.5pm a week) and if I do, I purposle start to eat more to slow down my weight loss. I feel happy because it really worked for my mindset. Here is my progress.
