Anyone here in Nursing School?

I was wondering how many of you are in nursing school as well. How do you find time to exercise, and what do you do? I just started making a lifestyle change (I really dislike the word diet - this is not something I plan to get off of ... it really is a lifestyle change for me). Anyhow, with the rigorous amounts of studying that I do, have you been able to stay faithful with your exercise?? When do you find is the best time for you? Before/After class?? Thanks for any input!! Good Luck this semester!!

So far I've decided to count calories, and do Wii Fit every night for an hour, until I'm in better shape. Then I plan on moving to bigger and better things! But I have to start off small!

Hi! I'm currently in nursing school, just about to start my second semester. I definitely had a difficult time fitting in exercise, but I got to school in Manhattan so I walked EVERYWHERE. When I was exercising at home, I found it best to exercise after class, before hitting the books. Working out helped me unwind a bit and clear my mind; I was able to focus a lot better on studying afterwards. I also do WW, but because I have practically no time to myself to be bored and pig out, I actually find it easier to stay on plan during the semester!

Best of luck this semester!

I'm not in nursing school but I am in college upgrading my education and working my way towards medical school. My college has a gym and anyone in the school is allowed use of it. I use the treadmill for 30 minutes, 5 days a week during lunch or right after classes before going home.

Thanks for your replies, I always like to hear how other people are going about doing things! :D

CiaoBella, I LOVE the city, I miss it. I moved out several years ago when my kids were babies, and miss it in the worst way. It doesn't help that I drive everywhere now too - but I know that helped add the pounds on since I never walk to get anywhere. Anyhow, I never thought about exercising after class to clear my mind!

Canadian Woman, I may head straight to the gym on campus after class now ... we too have use of the school gym, and I can't wait to start using it!

Best of luck to you both, with school and your journey!

I'm not in nursing school, but I am a single mother working on my master's degree full time, so I understand having NO time. It sucks. I've made eating healthy a priority, but I have trouble getting motivated to run for two or three hours. Lately I've been talking myself out of runs because I don't get home until 1030 at night and I have so much homework to do. It's hard.
