I have the same scale!! Mine is REALLY touchy, so I usually step on and off like 4 times each time to make sure that I get the most accurate weight. Also, aI don't know if this is true for all scales, but this one will read at least 3 pounds lower when its up against the wall (so I obviously only use it up against the wall :D ).

I'm not sure what you mean up against the wall. Do you mean the edge of the scale touches the wall? I don't think I could get on it if it's up against the wall.

It's staying steady at 210 :carrot: I'm kind of getting upset because it hasn't moved from the 210 though lol Wed. it will be 1 week since I started back to counting calories so THAT will be my official weigh in day. :dizzy:

Yea, the front edge touches the wall. I'm millimeters from the wall when I'm on it... it started because my tiny apartment has a tiny bathroom, and that was the only convenient place for it where I wasn't tripping all over it. I used to pull it away from the wall every time, and one day I jumped on without moving it and thought I lost 3 pounds overnight! I experimented a little, and it was definitely the wall. I want to see the lowest number possible, so I keep it up against the wall now :)

coping trick

I weigh once a day; I need the reality check. If it seems to drop too much I figure it's not real and don't count on it. A friend told me that when the scale doesn't budge downward when she thinks it should; she says a little prayer about being thankful for a healthy body that holds it's water to repair the muscles from the workout the day before. This calms her down and helps her to be patient.

I weigh so many times a day lately...I'm actually driving myself crazy right now. I was under 179 and now I'm back up to a consistent 182. I want those 170s back and I eat and then see what I've gained. I need the battery to die at this point. LOL.

Ah, the scale...I weigh daily and I am trying to stay positive everyday! I am learning to trust my body and know when I am PMSing, when I may be holding water for muscle repair after a brutal workout, etc. It keeps me on track, though. I'm glad I weigh daily -- if I didn't, I think I would slip a lot and think that I could overeat for a few days and then work out really hard, which just isn't a healthy mindset for me.

I think I"m probably PMSing right now, which is early but perfectly okay. That means in 2 weeks I'll be at a low again and I'll record that weight.

As a fellow Scale-aholic, can I just say... I love this thread!
I weight myself multiple times a day, every day. I play a game with myself where I'll guess what the next morning's weight will be based on my nighttime weigh in. I'm accurate about 90% of the time.

MDChick - I'm going to have to try that little trick! :D

To the OP, congrats on the whoosh staying. :) 5 lbs in a week is great! I''m sure you'll get another whoosh soon.
