Thanks...

...for this thread! I am a newbie here and have been checking out the various forums. I started counting calories with Sparks, which is okay, but My Daily Plate is much better and easier to use. Thanks to those who mentioned it.

I have 3 things about the same calorie count I choose from for breakfast and for lunch. That way I know I only have to think about the calorie limit of my supper. It makes it much easier, reducing stress. That helps me stay on track.

I've tried various programs but I really just prefer a pen, paper and a calculator.

I must say, I really am enjoying Lose It! One question I do have though, is if once a food is in your My Foods, if you can delete it? At Christmastime, I added a rum ball to my foods, but needless to say, I won't be eating them all year long. Is there a way to delete it? Thanks

I have been using MFP for years...really love it!

I'm using the Android App "Calorie Counter" by FatSecret that I just found out has a corresponding website.
What I love about it is that you can scan the barcode on items and find the food that way. I've been using it for about a week and a half and I've only not found 2 foods.
The you can also email yourself a report of what you ate for the day.

I use LoseIt too, love it! Are you using the app for iPhone/iPod? To delete something from My Foods, just go to My Foods and swipe across the name of the food. A delete button will pop up.

I'm using Lose It! on my new Ipod Touch. I really like this app, and it's what made me reallllyy want to get an ipod touch again after getting rid of my last one. The other apps I've tried on my android phone just aren't as good! I really like the layout of everything on this app, and it's just fun for me to use!

I use an excel sheet that I made back when I started off in 2008 and its served me well! I am down more than 200 pounds since then and still use my sheet daily ;) its pretty basic but it works!

Botz, what do you eat?
do you just calorie count or do you do WW? Weight Watchers?

Missjessica 01-04-2011 05:21 PM

After reading this post, I was sure I liked LoseIt! best, but then I downloaded the My Fitness Pal app... The My Fitness Pal app has UK foods which I liked, still wasn't sold. BUT, when you go to log off, this screen pops up and says "if everyday were like this, you would weigh XXX in 5 weeks". I had a good day, so it told me good things :) I know there are many other factors and all that, but for some dumb reason that is so motivating to see! Daily encouragement for logging calories... I'm sold :)

I use shape magazine's calorie counter, and really like it.
