Aiming for a daily defecit?

So I'm doing a combo of low-carb and lower cal and I'm still sort of playing with my calorie level. I find it hard to stick to anything too low for too long and I do quite a bit of pretty intense exercise. And I also find that my caloric needs do change somewhat week to week, though I try to bridge that gap with exercise. So what if I just aim for a defecit of 1200-1400 calories per day? According to Fitday at 267lbs I need 3034 calories to maintain, so if between diet and exercise I eat a defecit of 1400 cals per day that is in theory 2.7 or so lbs per week?

According to this (fantastic) website I use, to loose about 2lbs a week if you exercise 5x a week, you can eat about 2100 calories a day... see this link:

also, try the zig-zagging option, it is said to increase the metabolism & help you loose weight faster!

In theory that is how it would work.

I would eat about 2000-2200 at that weight to get everything going if you are going to be exercising as well.

Howdy,
I ate an average of 1978 cal/ 174 net carbs the past 6 days, walked 1-2 miles per day and gained 4.4#. As I was 7 # below my upper range. This is fine with me and is being seriously addressed this week to get my cushion back before Christmas.

The point is, it doesn't matter what anyone or any program tells you what your calorie limit should be. You must figure that number out for yourself. And really, it is too important to trust to anyone else.

Track very carefully for a couple of weeks. It will become quite clear what calorie limit you need.
