I did it!!

As of this morning, I finally hit my goal weight! I started in early July and have lost 32 pounds. The last 10 took FOREVER and I had to go down to 1200 calories a day ! Now I suppose I move into maintenance which scares me to death! LOL

Mama2Five, goal story please!

Mama2Five 11-18-2010 07:57 PM

Whats a goal story? LOL How I got to this point?

Well I was always "the skinny one" who could literally eat ANYTHING and not gain weight. Then I hit my 30's and it all went downhill LOL

At 35 years old, after baby #5 I was 155 pounds at 5'6" - Not so bad, but by the time she was almost 2, I had gained another 17 pounds and hit 172. After seeing myself in some July 4th pictures, I decided it was time for my first real diet.

I started with the low carb diet and lost 17 pounds quickly, within 4 weeks. Then decided I just couldn't stay away from bread and sugars completely so in early August I switched to calorie counting. In the first week I gained back 5 of the pounds I lost :( But I lost that much and more and haven't "suffered" too much with calorie counting LOL The past 4 weeks doing 1200 a day has been kind of hard but thats what it took to finally drops those last 5 pounds.

My initial goal was to get to 150 but when I got there I decided to go 10 more. As for exercise, I did more during the summer months. Biking with the kids, walking outside, swimming, etc.....since it's gotten colder out, I really haven't been doing much for intentional exercise. At 140 I still have some "flabbiness" and really need to start doing something to fix that. I still comfortably wear a size 12 and would like to firm up the flab so I can fit into a 10 again.

I really look forward to raising my calorie limit now but it's scary cuz I'm terrified that the scale will start moving upward again.
