Has anyone used nutritiondata.com?

I was just looking for some nutrition info on different types of potatoes (I was seeing if red really was better for you). Anyway it looks like the magazine Self owns the site but when you search for a food (upper left corner) and click on it for its info. You get way more than just calorie count. You get glycemic index, inflammation factor (what's that?), amino acid score, completeness score (??) and lots of cool charts and maps as well as all the vitamin information as well even things like water content and caffiene, etc. Then it gives Nutrition Data's 'opinion' aka rating (best is 5 stars) on is the food good for weight loss, optimum health or weight gain. And it looks like you can search by these ratings too so you can find 5 star weight loss foods and whatnot. It also has a lil blurb about 'the good' and 'the bad' about the food. :D

I have never used Self's nutrition tracker but based on their cool database I might give it a shot!

Anyway I wondered if anyone else had seen this website and how well it works for tracking. Regardless its a neat option for learning more about different foods. It is by far the coolest thing I've found online in regards to calorie counting (besides this forum of course). :goodvibes

yes, I use it alot. I think it gives so much more info, I use sparkpeople every day, then I compare it to nutrition data. The calories for foods are similar. Good Luck!

I've used nutritiondata since day 1, before it was a fit magazine entity. I esp. like it for easily calculating my own recipes and serving sizes.
