Jello Mousse Temptations

Has anyone tried these?

I just finished up lunch at work and had that not quite satisfied feeling and some calorie wiggle room so I headed out to the grocery store behind the building.

Single serve ice creams - way too many calories. Then I stumbled across these and got the Chocolate Indulgence ones. I checked out the ingredient list and they're not too bad for 60 calories. They're very fluffy and thick - although I'm not sure if something can be both of those at the same time - and overall pretty good. I think they're also a good size to kill the sweet tooth since a square of good quality chocolate doesn't tend to cut it with me - I need a few bites at least! My only issue with these is that the xylitol in them gives them a bit of a funky aftertaste.

I think the good (rich chocolate-iness and low calories with not too many funky ingredients) outweighs the bad (funky aftertaste).

My husband love these I think they're really good. We've tried the chocolate and the caramel. Haven't tried the Dark Chocolate and I think there is a mint chocolate one too but don't quote me on that.

Huuby likes to top it with a dollop of cool whip.

I think somewhere another poster recommended freezing them and eating them as ice cream (after they've thawed a bit). I tried it that way once and thought it was pretty good.

OMG, I'm going to have to try that!

LOVE them! Usually buy dark chocolate. I don't care for the caramel ones but I really want to try the mint choc.

saef 09-22-2010 04:37 PM

I like the caramel, because I like that flavor. Also the dark chocolate. The mint reminds me a little of the Girl Scout cookie Thin Mints.

The makers of this product get an "A" in mouth-feel from me. This stuff feels like it's got all kinds of fatty goodness in it when I rub a tongue-full against the roof of my mouth. My problem is, there's not much in the little cup. I am not satisfied afterward. I want that sweetness to continue. So they're a bit of a tease to me & a bit frustrating.

(Okay, this whole post reeks of sex. Probably that's why I got so fat. Sublimated by eating.)

I think they taste good, but they make me crave sweets even more so I try not to have them at all.

Saef, that is incredibly funny!

We have these for dessert some nights. The caramel one is meh, just so so. But the mint chocolate and dark chocolate ones ROCK!

Onederchic 09-22-2010 05:39 PM

I love them.

I like the dark chocolate one and want to try the mint. I've tried freezing them. Maybe they just take a REALLY long time to freeze, but mine was definitely the same as out of the fridge just, ya know, colder.

I tried the lemon.... really good!

ElizabethG 09-22-2010 09:51 PM

My hubby and I thought they were nasty. We didn't like the texture. I ended up tossing ours. I didn't think of the freezing thing...that might have worked.

We top ours with some fat free Redi-whip for an anytime treat!

That is how I eat mine too.

Yeah, that's why they are called "temptations".

I haven't tried them, I'm sure I would like them, and I'm sure I would never be able to stop at one...then I'd be searching for other "sweets" and I'd be knee deep in a sugar binge. Gosh I'm such a downer, but to me these kind of things are just junk food in a smaller, (very small) container.

One thing that we try at home as a "guilty pleasure" is what we call "jello fluff" basically its about 1/2c of heavy cream and a small box of sugar free jello. If you dissolve the jello in about two tablespoons of hot water and then add it to the cream, and whip it up. Its like fruit flavored mousse. It is not an all the time snack, but its good for the once in a while.

The caramel ones aren't that good. I've tried the chocolate ones frozen and they're pretty darn yummy.
