Rejoice with me people!!

I lost a pound, finally! LOL I started 8 days ago and GAINED 5 pounds, thanks to coming off the low-carb diet and suddenly adding carbs back.....But yesterday I went down a few ounces and today I'm down almost another whole pound! Hopefully I'm on the right track now.

I'm going to try the zig-zag method. Which will work perfectly because I'm going camping tonight & tomorrow and I know I'll be eating more "junk" than usual, so I will count tomorrow as one of my higher calorie days :D

And I was really skeptical reading here about how sometimes you need to eat MORE to lose. It just didn't seem right to me, and the first few days I was eating like 800-900 calories - not purposely, just being TOO careful I guess. Then for the past 3 days I've been pushing myself to eat higher, around 1400 calories, and it's WORKING!!

Congrats on your loss... Keep up the good work.

:carrot: YEAH!!!!! Congratulations. I know I am getting off a cockeyed eating plan that only allowed you to eat raw fruit and nuts. I have gained a little back too, I think it will go the other way soon. I did Atkins for several years and it didn't do anything but drive up my cholesterol and screwed up my liver enzymes. It was obvious to me that what is good for some people are not good for all. Good luck on your weightloss journey. Judy

Thanks!!

I was only doing Atkins for about a month and the last week or so, everytime I laid down for bed, it felt like my heart was racing or "shaking" or something, so I decided that maybe the fatty diet was not for me. And it hasn't happened since then.

Good for you!!! I too am going to try and venture into Calorie Counting after a few years of yo-yoing on Low Carb.

Woohoo! Good job girl!

This is amazing! I am starting the zig zag diet today and am looking forward to it. Did WW for three weeks and it worked wonderfully. It's just that my husband is counting cals and it will be easier to do the same thing :)

I am going to try to force myself to eat. I already planned out my entire day, snacks and all, and still have almost 400 cals left. And it's a low day.. So it's going to be tough.

Thanks everyone! KBoogie, I was just reading your thread. I'll post to you what I've done to transition :)

KAYLA, I found it hard to get up to my calorie amount the first few days too, which was quite shocking. LOL Is that your boxer in the picture? I have one too....Miss Bella. She is quite a handful :)

Yay!!! Congratulations!!! How did you come up with the amount of calories you should eat every day? I am going to try to stay around 1200 based on the formula in my 400 Calorie Fix book but the "formula" wasn't much of one. All it said was if you're a woman trying to lose weight, you should eat three- 400 calorie meals a day.

I did a few different calorie calculators online and got different results on each one, but they fell anywhere between 1200-1600, so I decided to go right in the middle and try 1400. I am 5'7" and only want to lose about 10 more pounds right now.....So alot depends on your starting weight too. Go to google and type in "calorie calculator" to find some to try :)

I eat anytime throughout the day, sometimes 3 meals, sometimes 5-6 smaller meals or snacks. I try to stop eating around 7pm but sometimes have a small nighttime snack.
