New to Calorie Counting, Looking for Full Day Menu Ideas, Exercise Tips, etc.

  • Hey all!

I've not tried calorie counting before, but I've read several of the threads posted and am wanting to give it a try. My goal is between 1200-1400 calories a day. I'd love to know your favorite full day menus, exercise tips, or any other habits that have helped you maintain this lifestyle. Thanks all, I look forward to reading your advice!
  • Best advise I would give you is to set up an account with Sparkspeople.com This is a free site wheer you can track your caloric intake, calories burned etc. When you set up it will calculate your weight, age, etc, and determine how many calories you should have to take off weight in a healthy manner, it will also give you suggested meals according to your particulars (low salt, or vegan, etc)
Once you get it set up you can track your daily intake and see where you are needing specific nutritional items (like mine is always low in calcium and iron) You can also track and get reports over long periods of time.
I track my own foods and rarely use their meal suggestions, BUT I often look at them to remind myself what balanced nutrition is.
Try it, I think you will really like it,
