Who knew eating healthy would taste so good?? Im making turkey burgers for dinner. I got a recipe online id like to share :)

Garlic and ranch turkey burgers

1 pound ground turkey
1 (1 ounce) package of ranch dressing mix
1 egg
3 gloves garlic, minced
1.4 cup worchestershire sauce
sald and pepper

Calories: 245

its 4 servings so those are good size burgers. Im going to use wheat buns and probably lettuce, tomato and onion. yummy!!! :p

I wonder if the egg is really needed. I don't do eggies. But otherwise it sounds delish!!! Enjoy.

Through some ground mustard in there for some extra flavor. Also if you can go without the bun, takes a lot of getting used to I know, you could load up on some extra veggies or add some avocado, sauteed onions and one slice of low fat swiss cheese on there (I make this frequently) and it is awesome and so filling.

I totally hear you! There's something really exciting about knowing the meal you're about to have is delicious and great for you! I had a souvlaki kebab tonight, baked sweet potato, and about 3 cups of steamed broccoli... I LOVE broccoli. It was amazing! I might try these turkey burgers, I'm off red meat (hurts my tummy!) so wherever I can get lean protein that won't make me sick I take it!

Please let us know how this recipe turns out ;) Are you going to grill them on a barbecue? I would love to make homemade turkey burgers on the grill but I fear they will crumble apart.

Im not very good with my grill lol. Im gonna bake them. Im gonna make them tomorrow. tonight ill be at the gym til 9 so i wont have time

Honestly, I would leave out everything except the dry ranch dressing mix. Especially the worcestershire sauce. It will add more sodium and the ranch has so much flavor already. Maybe keep the garlic. You don't need the egg or salt and pepper.

I have recently been making beef burgers using the dry ranch mix and a few pieces of bacon....[the pre-cooked microwaveable bacon, heated for about 20 seconds and chopped]...and it is a HUGE hit with all of the men in my life!;)

I agree the egg is not necessary, neither is the salt. I always skip the bun, you can eat a burger with a fork, taste just as good and less calories. I cook my burgers in a non stick pan sprayed with a little PAM.

Ok so i made them and they were good. They dont stay together well because of the lean meat but if u dont care about the look of it try them. :) i used everything as directed except the salt. I got wheat buns. and the whole thing totalled 367calories. I also added a few small pieces of feta cheese. It was amazing. that was my first time eating ground turkey. its no hamburger meat but its good

I think the egg is to help it from falling completely apart. An egg is protein and only 70 calories, but I agree the Worces. sauce could be left out. I would put a slice of cheese on mine too. Plus a whole wheat bun is better than white. Sounds yummy- I am going to try those this weekend I think. We often do hamburgers here - I wonder if I could slip my family a turkey burger and not tell them until they finished it?? LOL

Breannaj1215 06-24-2010 11:55 AM

lol they will notice its completely different. I used half the worces. sauce. i think that makes the turkey burger. but everyone is different.
