WW changes their diets at the drop of a hat and personally I think it is more about novelty than it is about dieting. I went to WW way back in the 1970's when the diet was based on exchanges. I received a weekly blank menu that had boxes at the bottom to check off as I aimed towards servings of each food group. It was a strict diet and I did lose weight. It was affordable back then too. Now, it has become too commercial for my tastes.

I prefer calorie counting because I can decide for myself how much to eat and what. Figuring out exchanges were a nightmare when eating combined foods. With calorie counting it is so much easier, especially since restaurants post nutritional info, the USDA has the most extensive data base and of course, packaging all list the info. So, why go with a whole different way of counting food?

Cost? Yep. I cannot see any reason to pay for exercising or to get on a scale and listen to someone try and motivate me. I hear many say that paying for it helps them be accountable, but for me, accountability rests with me alone, I don't need to pay for it. Walking, swimming, weights all are within my reach, I paid $30 for a nutritional program to keep all my data on my computer and that's it. No special foods, no diet bars or drinks, no diet pills, no paid weigh ins.
