Quick question for you all :)
Okay so this is something that has been confusing me and it's probably silly, but hopefully you guys will know. :)
Okay, so I've always been told that you shouldn't eat less than 1200 calories. So, if I've eaten my 1200 calories for the day and then I exercise and burn some calories, do I need to eat more? I know that probably sounds silly, but I'm worried about slowing my metabolism. I'd rather not eat more, I'm not usually hungry after, I'm usually ready for bed, but I don't want to mess myself up either. What do you guys think? |
At your height and goal weight 1200 is too low. Try 1500-1600 and see what happens. The reason you see the statement that we shouldn't go below 1200 is because lower than that we are robbing ouselves of needed nutrients.

exercising a lot boosts my metabolism
and i usually eat 1000 calories or less a day and am fine and i end of feeling really really good haha the result show quickly lol i have a weird little system im really intense during the week, and during this time i lose weight but im a litle more lenient with myself on the weekends so i plateau and its like aa staircase of weightloss because i get to look forward to the weekend so i can treat myself resaonably and also look forward to the vigorous new weekend by the end of which my clothes would look nicer and i'd receive more compliments lol |
occasionally, i don't eat the 1200 cal i'm suppose to. but it's really hard for me because i'm vegetarian, and a really picky eater. that being said, i am losing weight, but i always try and get as close to that mark as much as possible. today i had about 1100, so it's not terribly off.

You don't need to eat back exercise calories. I mean, if you are hungry, that's fine, go ahead and eat something and don't worry if that puts you a little bit over you calorie target since the extra calories you burned give you that wiggle room. But if you aren't hungry, then I wouldn't bother.

Ok cool, thanks guys!
