Going over daily calroies

So I went over on my calories today, more than 400 over . . . . at least I think I did, certainly feels that way but without an accurate count on my dinner Im not totally sure.

Anyways . . . should I maintain my normal number for the week or perhaps cut back each day to balance it out . . . like 75 to 100 less per day this week to make up for the overage today. That will still leave me with a GOOD amount of food, and I'll of course be making healthier choices . . . just means that my 'extra' I allow for like cheese or mayo or something will have to be cut out.

Any thoughts?

I'm no expert, but I woul dmaybe try to do a little more exercise, eat as you normally would and try to figure out why you went over, then try to develop a plan not to do it again. You have more practice than I do, so I have to assume it's just a one time slipup and you already know what you're doing. I think 400 cals is not the end of the earth, but if you make a habit of it, it could get ugly pretty easily.

no it isn't something I make a habit of, it was a moment of not paying attention to what I was doing and eating a double portion of take out - so not only do I feel gross and icky from the food since Im not used to it anymore, but I've frustrated myself for not paying attention in the first place.

I think what I'll do is my normal routine, but add 15 minutes of cardio each day. Not too much but enough to balance out . . . and hey I may even get used to the extra cardio :)

I zig-zag calories, so I look to the aggregate weekly total as my goal. You certainly could cut down 100 per day for 4 days to even it out - but if you are used to a certain number per DAY vs. per WEEK then the extra exercise might be a good option.

Oh - and looks like you are mighty close to a major milestone...keep up the awesome work!!

I haven't tried the zig zagging but it's been something that I've wanted to give a try, maybe this will be a good week to see how my body reacts to it.

And thanks for noticing the milestone coming up :D

I went over by that much both days this weekend, and I just decided to carry on as usual this week without making any adjustment because I didn't want to set up some roller coaster effect by skimping out or something.

We had some family stress with MIL in hospital and I had to eat out more than I wanted, so I view it like I was on maintaining mode over the weekend and now I'm back on losing mode.
