Loss of appetite

Hey,

I'm pretty new and I'm not sure how to find whether this has been covered already.

I'm a little concerned about my lack of hunger this week. It's likely due to my period, but I've been averaging about 1000 calories a day since Sunday and that's not including any exercise deficits. Compared to last week, which was an easy average of 1500 a day, this looks really low.

To be clear, it's not really a case of me feeling full and then stopping. I am still eating three meals a day but I'm also forgetting snacks and usually not finishing meals in full.

Will a week of this really slow down my metabolism or should I just make myself eat to 1500 even though I have very little appetite?

Thanks for any info.

I'm am experiencing this exact same thing this week and it's TOM. Yet last week during PMS week I was starving and had the munchies. I really had to force myself to eat this week and have been eating dinner really late because I just haven't been hungry (very unlike me). I've noticed this pattern in the past and I do think it's hormone/period related. I've also noticed that weeks that I'm less hungry I lose less weight and then weeks I'm starving I lose like 3-4 lbs. So I think it's also affecting my metabolism. It's a crazy ride, you just have to hang in there.

I don't know if you should make yourself eat or not, I have been and I'm not sure why (I think I've convinced myself that if I don't eat enough my metabolism will drop off the planet and I'll have to ride out the rest of my weight loss at like 1200 cals and then when I get to maitenance I won't be able to raise them without gaining). I'm sure that is all just total BS, but I've made myself stay within 50-100 cals of my goal cals, but have been consistantly under this week. Not sure any of this helps you, but just thought I'd comiserate.

Thanks! It definitely helps to know that it isn't abnormal.
