I need some motivation!
I am having some trouble. The weather is starting to get warmer here in Kansas (almost 80 degrees today!) and I just don't want to go to the gym. My roommate keeps telling me that I need to go to the gym (thank God) but I just don't want to. I want to hang out outside and soak up the sun. I am worried that if I just go for a walk then I won't burn enough calories and I'll mess up my goal of reaching 179 pounds by May 1st.
Should I go to the gym AND take a long walk??? It just seems silly to be cooped up in a gym on such a nice day. I'd run outside, but I don't run. Advice? :o |
Do you have a bike? Bike riding outside is a good option. A brisk walk is also good to burn calories, but like you said, you may not burn as many as you would doing something more strenuous. Are you into any sports? Basketball or soccer are both really good (and fun) ways to burn some calories outdoors.

I say enjoy the warm day! I just started the Couch to 5k program yesterday and it felt so nice to be able to enjoy the outside air and the warmer temps. There is no way I could have completed it if I were in the gym. Maybe use the gym for specific aerobic classes or weight lifting on raining days or days that you feel like its too hot!
I don't run either....but this program seems like a good way to start. |
