Need Some Calorie advice--I am stuck
I am stuck and want to get this weight loss rolling downward again. I have not lost anything since the first part of February. I am 46 years old. I have been averaging about 1300 calories a day in the last 2 months. I don't work out everyday, but I do horse chores twice a day (not that hard, but still activity). When I do work out, I usually do WATP for 30-45 minutes. I lost 25 pounds from 12/15 to 2/11, and I really don't think I am doing anything that different, so why am I not seeing any results? You can look at my Fitday, but I have started using DailyPlate as it is SO much easier and I can't link it here, I don't think.......so you won't see anything real recent on Fitday. What do you think I should do? Where should I be for calories? Should I zig zag? Help me get this rolling again....I have a long way to go.

Have you thought about increasing your calories and your exercise at the same time? 1300 is not very many for your weight. And if your body is used to the horse chores, then it might assume you are never gonna feed yourself and be hanging on to what it thinks it needs? Just a thought. Maybe increase exercise by 300 cals worth a day and increase food by only 200 or something like that and trick your body into cooperating? I don't think I would lose weight if I just ate 1300 a day. I have to eat more. I also have to keep adding exercise. Maybe you can just change things up and try a new routine for 2-3 weeks and see how it goes?

When I was eating an average of 1300 a day I was not losing weight. I took other people's advice, and bumped it up to 1600 a day. I am steadily losing 2 pounds a week now. It may seem counter-intuitive to eat more, but it is probably what you need.

I am only 40 pounds heavier then you and i eat 1800 calories per day. So i would think increasing your calories too...maybe try 1500-1600 and then see how you go?

When I was at 185 and eating 1300-1500 I wasn't losing either, now I'm eating 1650 on average (I zig zag) and I'm losing 1-4 lbs a week. I'm also very active and have increased my activity a little bit in the last 10 lbs or so. So long story short, I agree with the previous posters, you need to up your cals.

Right now I'm where you started, I've been doing around 1800 cals since Jan 4th and I've been losing around 2 pounds a week. I thought I was starting to high but now I am leaning that it's giving me more room to change things up here and there when I hit platues.
