Question for GoWear Fit Users
Hey all!
My boyfriend bought me a GoWear Fit (I'd been talking about buying one forever and never did) and today is my first day wearing it. One question I had, is for those of you that use it, was the calories consumed goal high for you? I'm 5'8", 152 lbs, and my GWF set my calories consumed goal at 2,780 and my burn goal at 3,780. I realize that if I do burn that many calories and eat that many, that I will have a 1,000 calorie deficit which is good, I just cannot fathom eating that much. Thanks for any advice/input!! |
I started using my GWF the beginning of the month. I don't remember what exact numbers mine said to start with, but yes, it was very high and my burn target was much higher than anything I can realistically achieve.
I played around with it so that my calories consumed goal is 1500 (I eat between 1200 and 1500 a day) and my burn target is 2500. I've hit the 1000 calorie deficit almost every day and lost almost 8 lbs in the first 2 weeks I used my GWF. I'm up a couple of pounds right now, but that's from being sick this weekend and not working out plus some bad food choices. Not that high on calories but not the best foods. However, I'm sure that weight will come off once I feel better and am back on my normal routine. |
I guess my first suggestion would be to spend a week or two wearing it and learning what your typical numbers are (I did this over the holidays before actually starting my calorie counting). Do the things you would normally do (if working out is one of those things, go for it, if being ultra lazy on the couch all day is one of those things, do it). Figure out what your typical burn is, then subtract 500-1000 from that to get the number of calories you should eat to get that 500-1000 deficit. For example, I learned that on my typical work day, I'm likely to burn 2800-3000 calories. On my typical day off, I'm likely to burn barely 2200. Because the numbers are so different, I follow a zig-zag calorie plan. On work days, I'll eat around 1800. On days off, I'll eat around 1200. I look at these as fluid numbers...I will adjust them down the road if my burned numbers start to change significantly...such as if my exercise schedule increased, or I start to get less burn as my weight drops.

Thanks for the responses!!! After toying with it, I finally figured out how to put in my own calorie and burn goals. (I'm not very computer savvy lol) On days that I get in my usual workouts (yoga and alternating walking/running programs) I burn about 2,800 calories going by Monday and Tuesday's numbers. So I now have my calorie limit set at 1,800 and my burn goal set at 2,800 for a 1,000 deficit.
How are you all liking your GWF? This is just the third day wearing mine and I ABSOLUTELY love it. Calorie counting is SO much easier now. No more guessing how many calories my workouts burn. It's so black and white, and I'm so happy I have one. |
