<3 definately the evening for me!

I like to be very routined with my calorie intake~ I have 1200-1300 a day and like to split it up:

100 for breakfast (Not a breakfast person here :D)
300 for lunch~
400 for dinner~
And then I have 400 left over for an evening "snack", which often goes into a muller light, and a bowl of sultana bran <3 which keeps me warm and full for the rest of the night :D

Hmm... actually, I am never hungry in the evenings and can go for many hours without food, no problem. But then it has never been my habit to eat anything after dinner, so that's probably part of it.

I do understand though... for me, it's the afternoons where I NEED food to keep going. It is by far the hungriest part of the day and it's hard for me to feel satisfied.

Me too...dinner is traditional the bigger meal at our house.

i tend to eat 250 at breakfast, 350 lunch plus a 100 calories in snacks-and i save everything else for the evening. I'll still measure my portions, but I eat what I make the family for dinner. I'm not a short order cook (or so I keep repeating to the family. Ha!). I also like to snack while watching tv, so I save room for popcorn or a sugar free pudding or fudge bar. Now I want one. A fudge bar, that is.

I am another one who delights in eating plenty in the evening. Partly that is due to hunger, but partly it is also psychological--I work hard all day long, and in the evening I want to relax and treat myself. So, I do.

I have crafted my meal plan pretty carefully so that for breakfast, lunch, and a couple of snacks I am heavily concentrated on protein, fresh veggies, and fruits--so by the time evening comes, I have eaten the majority of my protein and veg/fruit servings (usually at least 3 veggies and 2 fruits by that point). So if I don't eat any more vegetables, or if I just want to have eggs and toast for dinner, or whatever--then I can. At dinner I can be more flexible.

And after dinner there is still room for my homemade sugar-free hot chocolate, which is a necessity to my mental well-being (not to mention, it's good for me).

I am also a "night person" in general, and after 40+ years of simply being this way, despite attempts to pretend to be a morning person, I am relieved to admit what I am and delight in it. I'm not harming my body by eating in the evening, nor am I harming myself by staying up late / sleeping in late the once or twice per week that I get to do that.

I also save the majority of my calories for the evening. I work a few late nights a week so there are a few days that we don't get to eat supper til 8 or 9 at night. I'm still not sure exactly how many calories I need each day. I was using a program that allowed me about 2200 but found that with the healthier eating that I'm doing I haven't been eating that many. I'm still building up on my exercising mainly due to time because of my job. I've had to make time even if it is late... And that elliptical is whooping my butt!! I'll be so glad when I can get on that thing and go for atleast 20-30 minutes without stopping!! But I'm slowly getting there....with LOTS of prayer!! :)

That is too cool. I am a huge breakfast eater, I could easily get up and eat a 500-600 calorie "healthy" breakfast. I have a medium lunch then a smaller supper. Not because I need to, to stay on track, but because that is the way I like to eat. We all have our own internal schedules and have to find what works for us. I am so glad to know that if I needed my bigger meal in the evening that those out there would not say that was the wrong way to lose weight. So power to ya evening eaters and know we are all in this together!!!

I have to say that usually, eating breakfast for me in the actual morning (before 11am) usually makes me feel physically ill. It's a battle I waged with my mother every day growing up--she trying to make me eat breakfast and me refusing. So, I usually don't have anything aside from tea most mornings and I'm happy with this. Some days, I make a slight evening calorie sacrifice and have a white mocha from Starbucks.

Like many of you who've replied thus far, I, too, am an evening eater. I'm thankful my boyfriend is the same way--normally in this house, we have dinner anywhere from 7:30-9 pm. I never understood how some people could eat at 5pm. I've tried eating that early, but when 9-10pm rolls around, I am feeling ravenously hungry. Eating later actually makes it to where I eat less and I don't feel deprived.
