I have smoothie for breakfast every morning. 1cup of frozen strawberries with water and whey protein. I'm full until about 10 and I drink it about 7:30. The protein has a scoop which holds about 1/2 cup. So total Calories is 190. Doesn't take long make.

I use the following to build myself a breakfast for around 200 calories:

2 Turkey Sausage Patties - 100
1 piece of toast - 70
1/4 cup egg beaters - 30
Laughing Cow Cheese wedges - 35
1/2 cup applesauce - 50
1/2 cup of cooked, leftover veggies - 30

Usually I will have egg beaters, toast or sausage, and a fruit or veggie, and I stay full and happy.

I do things sort of like you do... I eat 4 mini-meals of about 150 calories, to save room for a big dinner.

I made up one meal in advance (I made 5, one for each day) that was about 150: baked tofu (1/5 block) marinated in salsa, lime juice, and taco seasoning; quinoa (1/4 cup cooked); and 1 cup of veggies (from a frozen mix - green beans, yellow squash, peppers and onions - you could cook some from fresh of course, I don't know if you can use stuff from plastic bags). I haven't eaten it yet, but it looks like a decent amount of food for the calories. :)

For breakfast, you can make up a whole bunch of steel-cut oats in advance and keep them in the refrigerator to make it quicker... 1/4 cup of oats makes about 1 cup cooked and is 150 calories... so you could eat 2/3 or 3/4 of cup and still have calories left to add some fruit or something.

I eat 150 cals for breakfast, but it's always cold cereal for me. I like the Special K Protein Plus... it keeps me full about as well as oatmeal (certainly better than most cold cereals!).

I second the steel cut oats at 150. I also add 1 Tbsp each of flax seed and wheat germ to take it up to about 210.

Or a piece of toast, pad of butter and a fried egg.

eviemc, just last week I copied a chicken salad recipe off the Hungry Girl website. It has cucumbers and grapes in it. Is that the one you make? It looks good but I haven't been shopping yet for the ingredients. Do you cook the chicken or buy some type of cooked chicken?

I like to make egg white salad - several hard cooked egg whites (55 c), lite miracle whip and a dot of mustard (20 c), lite toast with I Can't Believe it's Butter Spray, (50 c), fill in with a side of fresh veggies (30 c)

Hmm, hard to beat oatmeal as that is my breakfast with the best caloric value (bang for the ... calories). I also like a boiled egg + morningstar farms frozen sausage patty (75 + 80 calories, though I admit I also add 30+ calories worth of cheese.)

Well, apples are filling for ~80 calories.

A banana with 1/2 tbsp PB would be about 147.5 calories.

You can buy stonyfield yogurts for ~130 calories, and add a little flax.

Maybe you would actually like to eat a bowl of spinach or something for breakfast. Good caloric value there! Sounds weird but ya never know. I recently loved oatmeal for dinner :-)

For 160 calories you can have an egg sandwich. 2 slices of toasted light bread (80 calories) and an egg cooked (75 cal) in a nonstick skillet with a little cooking spray (5). You could use some spicy brown mustard (o calories) for flavor. (Mustard and eggs is really good actually).

I have something like this a lot, but I crack my egg(s) on top of a mixture of sauteed peppers, onions, mushrooms and garlic, and top with a slice of low fat cheese. All for 300 calories. SOOOO delish.

I couldn't imagine eating so little before evening though. 300-400 calories all day until supper? I'd pass out!

STOP, STOP, STOP THE MADNESS!!!!!! 150 calories for breakfast will NOT give you enough nutrients or energy to sustain you throughout the morning. Here are some ideas: those quaker packets of grits or oatmeal at 100cal a packet. Egg whites 30 cal for 1/4 cup, Ms. Biards whole wheat bread 60cal/slice, Oscar Mayer ready cooked bacon 70cal/4 strips, or a fruit smoothie.

For lunch Smart Ones have low cal entrees, but watch for the sodium (keep it below 650 mg). Campbell's soup, 1/2 of sandwich, salad with spritzer dressing, tuna and crackers.

Hope this helps!!

I usually have one of the quaker oats single sachet oatmeal and add a handful of raisins to get it to 200kcals. It's small but the oats are filling and the raisins add some sweetness.
I also sometimes have an english muffin with low fat cream cheese for 170kcals
Egg white omelettes are a good way to go if you've got the time in the morning i use 3 eggwhites and add onions, spinach and mushrooms, sometimes with a rasher of turkey bacon added - 150kcals
