I am getting close to maintenance so I have upped my calories. I am at 2000 and I run 6-7 times a week and have started crosstraining as well. I do not eat back calories.
Covet, covet, covet!
I'm hoping to be able to slowly move my calories up, 2000 sounds SO fantastic!
I'm just starting out, but I'm doing well so far between 1200-1300 a day. I'm losing and I don't feel deprived. I'm just taking it one week at a time though, and will adjust it if needed.
I aim for 1200 myself based on my activity level. I have been at home doing nothing for years so I have to slowly work up on the exercise. I just got a job and it is sitting at a computer all day so that isn't very helpful. I nearly DIE on an eliptical after 10 minutes. I hope as my body gets used to moving again to raise the calorie level. So far down 8 pounds in 9 days.
I did 1200 my first two weeks and I had headaches the first three days but I pressed past it and by day 5 I was feeling full on 1200 calories. 1500 the third week and I plan to continue with the 1500 next week. I plan on alternating every week after my fourth week which is this week. I'm feeling pretty good and it seems if I eat anymore it will be too much. I am full after my meals. I am doing the 30 day shred for exercise and on day 4.
I think you should see how your body does around 1800 so you have plenty of room for adjustments. Try to include exercise of your choice but start slow. I started walking around the mall everyday for the first two weeks.
I am reading the book Calorie Queens, and using their eucalorics formula. I am eating 1800 calories or less a day too. I know that I can succeed without deprivation eating this way. I also don't want to be model thin anymore like in my younger days, so that helps!
I plan on exercising each day, not doing an overkill of it, which have in the past. I will either walk on my treadmill or do a walking tape, walk away the pounds. Some days I do one mile, then on other days, I do the two mile walk.
I do climbs steps alot throughout the day too.
Ive always thought I was an undereater, so with my starting with the 1800 calorie range, I can see just where I am.
Went shopping and got some things and plan on starting Monday. Hopefully, I can quit saying Im starting Monday and really stick with it this time. Know what I mean?
I used the calculator at the fitness/diet tracking site I subscribe to, where you can see different target dates based on how far you "undereat" the calories you'd need to maintain body weight.
Based on starting at 268 lbs, I decided I could live with a daily average, over a week's time, of around 2050 calories. I don't exercise at all, not interested. (I'm not doing anything that I can't do for the rest of my life.) It's been four months now, and I'm down 21 lbs. as of this morning.
I could undercut my calories more and lose faster, but I'm going for the long haul, life-change here.

Your my inspiration since my cals are that high and the weight is coming off slow but I keep reminding myself that the slower the better and Im not feeling deprived and as long as Im losing its awesome. Im glad to see that your having success as well
I've been keeping close track of my calories using livestrong.com and daily plate. I eat anywhere from 1200kcal a day to 1500, but the site tells me my daily max is 1670. I am losing about 1 lb a week, but I should be losing 2+.
