Lean Cusine meals.

I am a huge fan of Lean Cuisine meals. They cook perfectly and are soooooo delicious. What are your favorite ones? I like the veggie pizza and the southwest chicken panini. Both are like 320 cals. Mhmm.

honeybjones 01-15-2010 02:10 PM

Chicken scalopini and lasagna--all in the same meal! Love it! LC is my go-to healthy meal and I think they are superior in choice and quality to all the others. I am a really picky eater but I can always find something I like and have a nice variety day to day and week to week.

HaleyisLove 01-15-2010 03:07 PM

I love the spinach mushroom pizza, the southwest panini, and this one thats like sezchwan shrimp or something... the last one is really low in calories so its good for days when I dont have a lot of them left

SNMomof1 01-15-2010 06:39 PM

I like the lasagna and spaghetti. I haven't really ventured out to try anymore because I'm SUCH a picky eater. Pretty sure both are 320clas

KTFaith05 01-15-2010 08:26 PM

I like potatoes with broccoli and cheese and I also like the chicken fettucini.

I used to eat the chicken and peanut sauce like it was going out of style. I wouldn't touch anything like that now. It tastes like cardboard, looks terrible and unappetizing and I know that I can make the same thing at home with a little ingenuity. :D

mulder1921 01-16-2010 04:01 AM

I like the cheese ravioli and the Sesame chicken.

Marti4484 01-16-2010 04:17 AM

OMG I love the cheese raviolli lean cuisine!!!!:carrot:

Teresa2010 01-16-2010 08:05 AM

chicken suiza, egg rolls, santa fe cheese and beans (i think that is its name)

The chicken suiza is my totally favorite.

yeah I live in a dorm room, so everything I want to cook must be microwaveable or toaster cooked. :( I would love to be able to cook at home.

bargoo 01-16-2010 09:47 AM

I always keep a few in my freezer. If I run out of fresh food I know I can still have something low calorie. It is also quick to prepare if you are rushed for time.

IrishRose 01-16-2010 02:15 PM

I love the butternut squash ravioli one. Also the Grilled Chicken Primavera and Parmesean crusted fish. I'm also a huge fan of the Flatbread Melts (although I don't eat them that often because they are lacking in the veggies department.)

Ali87 01-16-2010 04:33 PM

I'm only just discovering Lean cusine. Got the lasagna in the freezer ready.
I'm finding more then anything that the portion control is what's most helpful. I can make any of these meals at home but i'll always end up over portioning and doubling the size. It's good to know exactly how many calories i'm eating.

Eliana 01-16-2010 05:55 PM

I used these at the beginning because they were easy and the calories were counted out for me. My favorite by a long shot was the Glazed chicken. I tried to stay right around 200 calories, so my options were limited.

Mollewogg 01-16-2010 06:15 PM

My favorite is the Swedish Meatballs.

lovingsam 01-16-2010 06:18 PM

I like the turkey dinner. I get to pretend I am eating some of my very favorite comfort food, but without all the caloric damage.

missyRxOx 01-16-2010 08:26 PM

I'm so jealous! Here in Canada, we don't have the biggest selection of Lean Cuisine.. but my fave's so far are the Lasagna, or the Chicken with Spaghetti? it has veggies too and it's soo good!
I also like the michelina's line... they have a good selection.
I love these dinners, especially with some veggies beforehand, they make an excellent dinner!

I do the same - I don't want to rely on being too hungry/not enough time to cook something be an excuse for not making a healthy choice (well, relatively anyway, I try to limit processed food).

Although this is a LC thread, I'll put a plug in for a couple of Weight Watchers ones -- Lasagna Florentine and Penne Pollo. Even when I wasn't actively dieting, I'd still buy them because I liked them so much.

I was just about to say the same thing, looks like we're missing out on a huge selection. But the chicken with spaghetti and veg, I love that one!

Side note . . .Vancouver . . . Im so jealous . . . . hoping to move out that way over the summer :)

I really enjoy Kashi frozen meals. They have more fiber in them so they keep me full longer than Lean Cuisine or Healthy Choice. Although those Healthy Choice steamer things are super yummy!

BatgirlAmy 01-18-2010 03:55 PM

I've never seen the Kashi brand but I've also never really liked anything Kashi brand. It's kinda bland to me. It's all about preference.

fatmad 01-18-2010 07:16 PM

hmm, I had a terrible lean cuisine skillet last night. It was the chicken primavera. It was way too salty, the chicken was mushy except for the part that had gristle. I added some steamed broccoli and that helped a bit, but overall it was really disappointing. I have had this meal in a bag before and liked it so I am not sure if there has been a change or if my taste has changed.
I am visiting my parents near the border in a couple of weeks and maybe I will cross the border to Buffalo or Niagara Falls to do some grocery shopping and stock up on some different frozen dinners. They are handy, and I do like the portion control.

msolson81 01-18-2010 07:39 PM

I like the pizza with chicken and garlic. It has big chunks of garlic, so I wouldn't recommend it if you aren't big into garlic.

thundahthighs 01-18-2010 09:50 PM

mmmmm, Kashi!

If I MUST eat frozen food, I'll eat Kashi.
I like that Mayan Bake. Yum(ish).

sweetnlow28 01-19-2010 11:15 AM

I love Lean Cuisine too but I find here in my area, there are only about 12 varieties to choose from. I think there are more varieties available to the US, not fair :snooty: LOL. My favorites are the glazed chicken and the Spa Thai Chicken. I always try to add an extra cup of frozen veggies to the mix to make it a little healthier. I am also a huge fan of the new Healthy Choice Steamers. Beef Merlot is great mixed with a cup of broccoli :D

Kellye 01-19-2010 01:56 PM

Oooh, I love the primavera too. But I try to stick around the 200-250 range, and most of the really yummy stuff that calls out to me with that pleading, come-eat-me look (I'm talking about you, spaghetti and meatballs!) is around 350 and that's a bit high.

The one I usually end up buying the most is the potatoes and broccoli that someone else mentioned. It's pretty good with only 210 calories, so I can have it as a lunch and feel good about eating a good healthy homecooked dinner.

chickiechic 01-21-2010 03:20 AM

I just stocked up on frozen foods and soups- we had some good sales this week. One can (just over 2 servings) of Progresso soup is about 250-300 calories per can (and only 200 for the 98% fat-free chicken noodle). They were on sale, 10 for $1. A Michaelina's entree is about the same price and # of calories (agreed, adding a bowl of frozen veggies, steamed in the microwave, with salt and pepper makes them a lot more filling if you want to make a real meal of them). And I wouldn't call any of this healthy- but when I came home pretty beat yesterday, and my sausage and pepperoni Lean Pocket was just the kind of warm, melty treat I needed for my final mini-meal of the day... it was definitely 280 calories (and 70 cents) well spent. But if I could afford to buy them more often, I love the Amy's organic vegetarian meals- not precisely low-cal in most cases, but delicious. And ditto the Healthy Choice steamers- love everthing about them except the fact that you have to microwave them in plastic.

amynbebes 01-21-2010 05:39 PM

I just finished one of my faves, sesame chicken. :) There so easy to take to work and often if I feel like one is lacking in veggies I'll add a veggie to it.

toobig 01-25-2010 06:39 AM

Had the pizza yesterday. It fixed my craving for only 340 cals. Wonderful

Kristi78 01-26-2010 05:55 PM

Love them! I have yet to try one I didn't like. I especially love the butternut squash :D Since pasta portion can be an issue for me, I like these since there is no change of overindulgence. Plus, they are great lunches for the office.

Mariella 01-26-2010 06:27 PM

The Glazed Turkey Tenderloins with whipped sweet potatoes and dressing is my favorite LC at just 250 cal.

Also like the Southwestern Beans with Cheese and the pizzas but the pizzas are higher calorie I think - havent had one in a while.

And like another poster, I used to love the WW Penne Pollo!
