Last night I made Lime Herb chicken. It calls for 2/3 a cup of Italian dressing. So, you let it marinade over night in this mixture and then grill, put in crockpot or whatever. So, when I add all the calories up wouldn't it actually be less than my figures since the leftover marinade is thrown out? This is one of those things that just has me a little confused.
When I do marinades, I generally just count that I've eaten 1.5-2 servings of the marinade.
I count some portion of the marinade, usually... like 1/8 or 1/4. Depends on the amount of marinade relative to the meat, and also how thick it is - thicker sauce-like marinades seem to stick to the meat more so I may count more of them than really liquidy ones.
I just guess, and call it "close enough." I probably overestimate most of the time, but that makes up for the occasional piece of gum or whatnot that I don't log.
