Ever use caloriecount.com? Loving it!

  • Have you ever used this? (caloriecount.com) I'm sitting here plugging in family recipes and I'm loving this! It gives me nutritional information for my recipes! But I'm wondering how accurate it is. Maybe if one of you who have already analyzed a particular recipe of yours could plug it in to see if it's accurate. I just did:

    Chicken Divan
    1 lb broccoli
2 breasts of chicken (it likes it worded that way)
1 can broccoli cheese soup (it couldn't find that so I used cream of chicken soup)
    1/3 cup milk
    1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
    2 Tbsp dry bread crumbs
    1 Tbsp margarine

    Serves 8; Calories: 162
That just seems too good to be true! Or maybe in my old ways this dish served just the four of us with no leftovers.

I hope this site is for keeps because I feel like I can eat anything now! I can dip back into my old favorites and simply measure our portions.
  • Haha looks like you found one! I just posted on other thread about this
  • wow, thanks for posting about this....I'm definitely going to check it out! It would be great to know this info about my recipes...cool!

    Dessi
  • Yes, Yelie thank you! I was playing as you posted. I'm loving this! Calorie counting just got a whole lot easier!

Dessi, glad I could help. I didn't know such wonderful tools existed...and free!! And for the site I found, you don't even have to sign up! Apparently it will keep your recipes for you, but I'll just write the info next to the recipe I already have. That way I don't have to search both my cookbook and a website when I make a dish.
  • I've been using it for awhile, and I love it! It is so easy to use, and gives you so much info.
  • Howdy,
Sparkpeople are also good. I trust recipe generators calorie counts the most. These sites don't have a conflict of interest. Just wanting to provide accurate data.
