Yes and no...
I think the key is 'being real' with yourself. If counting every.single.thing. you put in your mouth helps you succeed and stay on plan, then go for it! If you find that not counting that green salad slides into not counting that baked potato (because it is a vegetable, after all lol) .... then, COUNT! For me, typically won't count it, but at the end of the day, tack on 50-100 calories in my overall total to account for raw, low calorie greens and such with very low calorie counts. I figure, I certainly didn't get to be this overweight by eating raw spinach :P |
I do count it all...but if i go 50 calories over or 50 calories under over the day i allow myself the flexibility to not worry about it. When i previously did weight watchers i would stress if i went over my "points" and i feel that was falling into a "diet" trap not a lifestyle...so now i track it all and if i am around my 1800 calories per day then im happy

I count veggies, but I eat a LOT of them. I aim for about a pound a day, and that adds up fast. My mom does WW, and as long as she's just eating veggies without butter or cheese, she doesn't count them - but she only eats a few servings a day.

I do, but mostly because I am tracking nutrients and fiber as well as calories.

If it goes in my mouth, it goes in my log - there isn't anything that I leave out. If I'm under or over a few days, I'm good as long as the week pretty much averages out. ;)
