I use Lite Coffeemate powder (10 cals./tsp). 1 tsp. of that and 2 splenda packets. I also occasionally use my SF syrups to sweeten them if I want to make them a bit more decadent. Works for me!

Of course you can drink coffee, why not ? And if you want to use real sugar, it is only 15 calories for a teaspoon. Remember if you are counting calories you can basically eat/drink whatever you want as long as you count the calories in your daily allowance.

i couldnt drink coffee without milk and sugar. wouldnt be the same. and a day without coffee would be horrible as i have a caffine addiction and i cut out soda, so need the coffee or suffer migraines.
i have always thought like a skinny person, used to be one. on the inside i feel the same as i did when i was skinny but when i look in mirror or look down at my tummy and thighs i think oh god what did i do!! |
I have used coffee as my treat! I use one teaspoon of sugar (15 calories) a packet of stevia, 2 tblspoons powder creamer (20 calories) and a sprinkle of cinnamon, just makes it feel like a treat and doesn't add any calories. Or I have sprinkled coco powder on it to make it smell like chocolate if I am needing chocolate. Seems to really help me and I can get away with about 35-50 calories depending on size of my cup :-)

Coffee is very important to me. I used to drink it with a ton of half and half and sugar....gosh it was so bad. My father had a heart attack and I immediately quit with the half and half and switched to just regular milk. I go back and forth between 1% and skim (I really prefer 1%).
I thought there was no way possible that I could get past the half and half thing. It was really a big issue. It has been 3 years now, and I only use it when offered in a restaurant. I use Splenda as well, but really, half and half was the issue. If I really need a starbucks, I just do a skinny latte and it is fine. I find stevia to have too much aftertaste. |
I drink strong, strong, strong shade grown coffee, ground at home, with 1/2+1/2 and no sugar. I have a deal with myself. The whole enchilada is about 80 calories. I have it once, maybe twice a day, and I park as far as I can from everything, I run up the stairs, I do random push-ups once in a while (um - ok, half-pushups pilates style, because I am a weakling) and I don't have to log the coffee.
I know, I know - I'm gonna have to give up this trick sooner or later. But oh man - shade grown beans, freshly ground, just sitting in the pot, pleading, begging, DEMANDING 1/2+1/2. Skim milk just doesn't cut it. :^: (For the record, it is the only thing that goes in my mouth that doesn't get logged. I even logged a single bite of cake I took yesterday!) |
