suggested reading

so, i am an avid reader. I read all the time, and I read anything. but recently most of my reading is fitness/diet related.

any suggested books or web sites to check out since i'm embarking on this calorie counting journey tomorrow?

I like going through bodybuilding.com they have a 'super site' section that has loads of articles by fitness models. Other than that I just pick up various fitness magazines to keep me motivated.

I'd like to see what others say as I love reading nutrition books, etc.

I am starting Wendy Chant's Crack the Fat Loss plan soon. Its a great book and plan to go by to not only lose the weight but help you through the plateaus and maintain. You should give this book a try....we have a little support forum going also for people on this plan. It's eating regular food but in a way that boosts your metabolism. :)

I love love love reading "First" magazines. They're super cheap, you can get them in any grocery store, and they are PACKED with recipes and information about different diets. From the cover they kind of look like a lot of tabloid-like fluff, but the information they give about different diets and supplements are backed by legitimate sources. It's pretty much the magazine that sparked my health kick and the beginning of my weight loss journey.

I would like to read some good books about health, too. So far I really don't have any suggestions, most of the diet books I picked up are in another language. You could always try amazon and look at user's suggestions based on the most popular titles.

I like the Beck Solution. You pick your food plan. This book is a cognitive approach to changing the habits that overeating people all have. I think it's very very good. It helps you to learn to resist food, daily reminders of healthy approaches to food, and much more.
