Finding maintance level

Well, I've almost made it to my goal weight and this time I'm going to try something new. I intend to slowly add back calories to my diet (about 200 calories at a time) and track my weight. I am going to slow my weight loss down to about 4-5 pounds/month and then to about 1-2 pounds/month. I want to try and calculate my maintance calorie requirements. In the past, when the diet was over, I just quit keeping track and that was a huge mistake.

Has anyone else attemped to end a diet this way?

This is exactly how to do it. It's an excellent idea to keep on tracking--some of the maintainers have done so for years. :)

Just remember you can never go back to eating the amount of calories you were eating when you were overweight. The less you weigh the less calories you need to maintain that weight.
