"To Go" Snacks?

  • I've been trying to come up with something that I can through in my bag at like 12pm (noon) and have with me til "snack time" at 3:30 but I'm coming up with a loss!!

    Any ideas or favorites?
  • I keep a small baggie of almonds (not salted), about 15, in my bag for when I feel a snack attack. Very filling, good for you and keeps me going till dinner.
  • I've found Weetabix Minibix Chocolate Crisp to be a great snack and they really fill me up. You can google them.

It's a cereal obviously, but I don't really like it with milk. You could just put it in a plastic bag and take it out when you need it.
  • A babybel cheese would last that long in a bag - throw in a small portion of crackers or an apple.
  • apple, string cheese, a little baggy of cheerios
  • There's this beef jerky that is in little pre-portioned packages and they sell it at costco. Or any beef jerky, really...it's low in fat, high in protien, and a good snack. Also, I like dry roasted/salted edamame...good to put in a little baggie and snack on.
I'm also a big fan of 100 calorie packs...I especially like the wheat thin ones and i eat it with a couple laughing cow light cheeses (which don't need to be refrigerated) Dipping each individual cracker makes it last longer and makes you slow down when eating it.
Lastly, I really like taking berries to work. I eat them one at a time, they're high in fiber, and they don't have to be kept cold.
  • I'm a fan of South Beach Living High Protein bars. I also like the small boxes of raisins in case I need something fast.

  • The snacks I enjoy in the afternoon doing paperwork or driving home are apples, plums, peaches (any of the wonderful fruit we can get now) They do a good job of keeping me full until I get home. I agree with most everyone with almonds. They are really great. I now get the coco covered ones so you get the chocolate flavor with them. ::yum::: Other then that I will have a fiberOne bar or smartsnack popcorn 100 cal bags.
  • Almonds, pear, grapes, protein bar, fiber bar
  • I like to take a baggie of grapes (1C portion) or reduced calorie string cheese...also Surgar Free Jell-O pudding snacks are GREAT! Someone suggested the babybel cheese...another good option would be the Laughing Cow LIGHT cheese wedges...they're only 35cal per wedge and they have 3 flavors (Original Swiss, French Onion, & Garlic Herb)...they especially good spread onto Veggie Thins (only 150cal for 21....it's actually quite alot of crackers)....
