Default Not Hungry

Ok, so this might seem like a good thing to people but I am hardly ever hungry. I'm usually not hungry in the day until like 2-3pm. So I just wait to eat with my hubby at 5. Is this going to totally screw up my body? I know you're supposed to eat breakfast to get your metabolism going, I just don't like to eat when I'm not hungry anymore. I used to do that, thats why I'm fat

It seems that many people with weight problems have a hard time knowing when they are hungry vs. not hungry.

IMO it's better to make sure you are eating at regular intervals throughout the day, starting in the morning with breakfast. No need to make it heavy--but eat something--and make sure some protein is in there.

You can still plan on dinner being your largest meal, but you really do need to eat during the day.

Have you cut out junk food from your diet? When I cut out processed foods from my diet, I stopped getting hunger pains. If I go too long without eating now, instead of hunger pains after just a few hours, after a LONG time I start to get lightheaded and dizzy. But that's about it! That doesn't mean I shouldn't eat though! I eat every few hours to keep my metabolism going, but closely monitor how much I'm eating.

If you have started a new change in your eating recently, I can tell you "not" feeling hungry is completely normal. I am not sure why but many of us have gone through it. I have bouts of it from time to time still. Never fear though, the days of ravenous hunger will still come from time to time.

Oh, and megwini is spot on. Reducing garbage from your diet and sticking to whole foods completely satiates your appetite and your body with what it needs. The times I have the worst problems with wanting *bad* foods are the times my body is depleted of all the wonderful things put on on our earth. Staying satiated with healthy fats and proteins are my personal weapons of choice.

This is actually a diet plan. The same one I use. Called Fast-5. I usually do not get terribly hungry until 2pm or 3 pm.

Check out this link:

I have the same "problem". I have never been a breakfast eater. I tried South Beach diet for 2 weeks (gave that up because meat and cheese are just not my thing) and went to calorie counting. But ever since i got off that initial 2 week SB diet I have noticed that I don't start eating until after 1 and even then i eat the majority of my calories in the evening. And I honestly don't feel weak or light headed at all. Maybe that is just more natural for us than eating earlier and more frequently. I am a big believer in listening to what your body is telling you!

I hate breakfast. I was eating bags of potato chips on my night job- That was how I gained the weight. They probably never really satisfied the eating urge either.
