calorie counting websites
hey y'all, just a quickie, what websites are the best for finding calorie counts of foods??
|
dwlz.com gives nutrition info for all types of restaurant food. Click on the restaurant tab and scroll down. There are a ton of different restaurants, each with menu items.

I love calorie king :)

I use thedailyplate.com. I really like it. I tried several others. You do have to watch out because you can type something in and get back several different items with different calorie counts. But, it's really user friendly and I love the pie chart that shows the breakdown of my fat:carbs:protein.

I use FitDay, but I think that's only because people were discussing it here when I started really tracking calories. Probably Daily Plate, SparkPeople, etc. work just as well. Daily Plate definitely includes more brand name items and restaurant foods.
I end up having to make a lot of "custom" foods, and I look them up on Calorie King and Daily Plate mostly. But then I have them on file, so it becomes less work over time. I really like the breakdown of daily calorie deficit and that you can keep track of your measurements over time in addition to weight. It's a bit weird though. Doesn't have some really basic foods I have looked for but *does* have human breast milk (172 cal/cup if you were wondering) and really random composed dishes (maybe they add people's custom foods to the general list?) AND you can calculate calories burned for sexual activity, if you want to count that! Don't know if the other sites have the same humor value |

I use www.myfitnesspal.com and I really like it!! It even has a lot of my generic supermarket brands listed in there.
