Big Johns BBQ-Why do I love you so?

  • And why did I indulge in you last night?
I've been under 1500 calories since June 8. Last night, we all got home late, it was hot and I didn't want to cook. Enter Big Johns BBQ, the small local joint that serves up the best bbq ever!
I had a 1/4 lb "ladybird" burger with sauteed mushrooms and a small basket of onion rings, followed by a cup of home made mint chocolate chip ice cream. I ate 1853 calories yesterday and did not work out.
The result? Up 1.5 on the scale this morning and an hour on the treadmill tonight.
Was it worth it? At the time I was eating, yes....today? Not so much!!!!!
  • You didn't gain 1.5 pounds by eating 350 calories over your limit. It's water weight from salt.
  • In fact, I'll bet that you have an unusually large loss in the next day or two. I find that when I naturally calorie cycle a bit (but stay within reason -- just have a day here and there that's 300-400 calories above what I usually eat) I lose better. Keeps my body guessing and keeps it from being afraid to burn all those calories!

So I'll bet you have a really good loss in a day or two!
  • I love you guys! I didn't even factor in the salt, so muchas gracias for pointing THAT out!!!

It was an indulgence. I feel guilty. Ah, the healthy lifestyle.....
