Default Did you go over your calories on the 4th?

Oh man, I did! I did good in the morning and afternoon but by the time the party started I decided to just eat what I wanted. Everyone kept saying "Just eat, its the 4th of July." and I listened I need to work my butt off this week

I did not go over. Of course, I was at home alone with no yummy 4th dinner or anything so I guess that's good...right? :|

No need to beat yourself up. The road of life has many bumps. These things do happen and people do go off plan. Unfortunately with celebrations they turn into eat-a-brations often. We associate food with a lot of our celebrations and it will be that way always.

I personally stayed at home with just my husband so that we could stay on plan. We didn't even see or hear any fireworks out by us but it was fine. We grilled some Hebrew National 97% fat free beef hot dogs and had salad and baked chips as a special treat.

The best thing you can do is learn from this for the future. Bring your own foods to events, drink lots of water, sit away from the food service area, plan in advance to eat more.

Thanks for making feel a little better, I'm hoping that I can get back down to 202 this week. I'm thinking a lot of it is bloat from pasta, soda, and beer. Lots of water today

I went over big time too. My mom baked two amazing apple pies and then someone broke out the bag of Lays potato chips. It was soooo good. I didn't weight myself though. I did try to stay active with a hike and a run so maybe I broke even.

I ate whatever I wanted this weekend but smaller portions (I basically only ate 1/2 of everything)...I had a real hot dog (not the turkey dogs I make), a snow cone, funnel cake, fried chicken, you name it! For me, deprivations on holidays leads to my quitting calorie counting so I just said the heck with calories for a few days and lived it up. Interestingly, when I eat the junk food it is at first appealing but that quickly wears off..I actually end up missing healthier food. Not to mention the affect that eating grease and fat has on your GI system! Beginning today I'm back to 1500 a day of healthy eating and it feels good.

Try not to be too hard on yourself...sure, you want to lose weight but life is also short and if it means splurging for a day you'll be OK The most important thing is to not beat yourself up...a lot of us are emotional eaters and when we are losing weight we want to have our self-esteem as high as possible.

CurvyBlond19 is right on...drink lots of water!

Good Luck!

I had planned that I would enjoy the 4th, I don't believe that I over ate, but I did eat chips and deli meat and cheeses snacks, things I do not normally eat, as I have blood pressure so the extra salt is a major no no for me. but I'm up 3 #'s since the 4th, but I did get in that salty sweet cycle, and hoping today the cravings are gone. I hope no other holidays are in sight too soon. It is tough to get back on the wagon.
