Default Calorie Counting question...

I have been changing up my calorie intake each day to shake up my metabolism and it has really helped get me out of a plateau. I just want to make sure I don't dip too low on my 'less' days and go into 'starvation mode'. Is the danger zone under 1200 or 1000? Thanks for any help.

1200 is considered by many to be the minimum number of calories you can safely consume and still get enough nutrients. I wouldn't go below that. I'm about your height and never went deliberately below the 1200 when I was actively losing. I cycled sometimes, too - varied from 1200-1500.

That being said, one day of a little lower than 1200 here and there with other higher days averaging to 1200 or greater total isn't going to send you into starvation mode. You have to sustain the low calorie count for a little longer to do that I believe. It isn't the best thing to do, but I did it by accident a few days myself.
