I'm veggie and a new calorie counter! I realized I was terribly off with "guessing" and now stick between 1500-1600 per day on Fitday. I'm 5'8" and weigh 209 at the moment!
Quinoa really IS a great source of protein, plus, it's the cutest little grain!
I'm actually going to give calorie counting a shot because I've been doing a lot of "restrictive food" kinds of diets (raw food diet, low carb diet, no-fat diet) lately and they just aren't working (driving me to binge eat for obvious reasons). So I'm figuring that calorie counting makes more sense for me, since I'm pretty good at keep calorie count in check and it means not having to think about whether I'm eating too many carbs or too much protein or cooked food or whatever!
I'm aiming for a vegan diet. I'm 5' and weigh 151 currently. I'm planning on keeping my calorie count to around 1300-1400 a day.

So frustrating
Meeting my friend after work. Looked at the one-line menu and the only thing on there for vegetarians is a portobello sandwich for $9.75 which comes with fries OR the portobello entree for $20!!! $20 for a mushroom! Wow.
I am going to order the sandwich, ask them to hold the roll and see if they can give me any rice and/or veggies. I could have a salad, I suppose, but I have a salad for lunch and can only handle so many salads.
