website for counting cals

Right now I am using Fit Day, but I have to put all the information in if I want to enter something new in. What are others using for tracking thier foods?

shrinkingleah 06-02-2009 04:54 PM

I use www.livestrong.com/thedailyplate and I LOVE it. If I can't find exactly what I ate, I can usually find another similar product with the same cals/fat/carbs/protein so it works out well. Not sure exactly what fit day is, but I really like the daily plate.

I just throw everything into an Excel spreadsheet.

I like Sparkpeople! I have been using it since January to count calories and log fitness. They also have great forums and offer tonnes of support and the best part-it is free!:D

To build on this, I too use an Excel spreadsheet (for WW points tracking).... but I've uploaded it to Google Docs, so it's online and I can access and update it seamlessly from work, home, or my phone.

sparkpeople. I don't participate in the forums much, I like it HERE too well, but the tracker is very good. I especially like the fact that it tells you how low Not to go; and if you try to put in a weight + goal that is unhealthy, it just won't take it.

I also like livestrong.com/thedailyplate. If you can't find what you ate, you can enter your own information so it is available to you the next time, as well as other users of the website. It is very convenient and very easy to use.

fitday :)

Loseit!, on my ipod. It's handy because I always have it with me.

Caloriecount.about.com and FitDay (the computer app, not online)

SarahMorgan 06-02-2009 09:13 PM

Um I just write it all in a real notebook with pen. LMAO If I am eating something that doesn't have the nutrition listed I just google it. I really like to have it written down and not on the computer.

Windchime 06-02-2009 09:53 PM

I use The Daily Plate. I used to use Fitday but I got tired of having to enter things in myself. TDP seems to have tons more items already entered for me.

cincimom11 06-02-2009 09:54 PM

Sarah - I do the same thing! We are keeping it old school!

Tiffany529 06-02-2009 11:13 PM

I started out on sparkpeople but got tired of them not having the foods listed. Now I use thedailyplate and I love it! They have so many foods listed.

SarahMorgan 06-03-2009 08:17 AM

cincimom, I even still write almost all letters and send them snail mail. LOL Just seems more personal and real to me than email. You would think I was much older than I am. Ha!

Cebsme 06-03-2009 09:16 AM

I love sending letters. I get stationary sets for all holidays.

On the subject, i used to use fitday, then I used daily plate, and now I only use the one on my Go Wear Fit site.

Chele615 06-03-2009 06:20 PM

I use www.my-fitness-pal.com. I like it because it has a bunch of stuff listed in there....even the generic supermarket versions.

Mel 06-03-2009 07:18 PM

I use fitday- I've loaded so many custom foods into it that it would be impossible for me to switch now! I tried thedailyplate and it just didn't make as much sense to me.

I write mine down too with pen and paper. I have a tiny composition book that I keep in my purse. Works great. But I use Calorieking.com to look up info.
