  • 1,185 is definitely too low, as most nutritionists recommend eating no less than 1,200 calories to avoid putting your body into starvation mode. You're likely hitting a plateau where your body has gotten used to what you're eating and how much you're exercising. Maybe try mixing up your workouts with something new and fun like rock climbing or kick boxing.

And I'd definitely try going up to the 1,580 calories per day - just make sure you're getting those calories via whole grains, lean meats and lots of fruits and veggies. A lot of people find that upping their calories actually helps them lose more, as their bodies aren't so concerned with hanging on to every little calorie they take in.

    Good luck!
  • Try upping your calories slightly and adding in another day of exercise - 3 is good, but probably the minimum for losing weight consistently (for most people). Like smisen said, mixing up your workout routine might help jolt your body out of a plateau as well.
  • I think your goal of 120 is really low for someone who is 5'7". Looking at height alone I'd say you are in a good range and even if you wanted to get down to 135 (which I think is very ideal for your height) the last ten pounds from what I hear are ALWAYS the hardest to lose. I do agree to up those calories a bit and I'd also say increase your workouts- even if it's 15 minutes a day.

But at your weight your BMI is 22.9- which is very good
  • I'm going to agree with beerab-- because you're already in a healthy range, your weightloss is going to be very slow. I think maybe eating a little more calories 1200-1400 daily and increasing the exercise to create your deficit. You might consider more weight lifting to change your shape (and decrease size) rather than worring about the rest of the weight.

  • I am glad that seems to be working out for you . I am gonna go check that site out, lol
  • What is the importance of 120 pounds? At 5'7" that weight is near what Helen from The Biggest Loser weighed at the finalie (at 5'6"). She looked absolutely horrible. Did your doctor suggest such a low weight? That weight is like .3 away from being underweight.
  • you need to switch things up a little
looks like you are in a stall.I've been on diets before and this has happened. propably not the right way to do it but i started eatting what ever i wanted for a week or so(still excercised though) and then went back to dieting and started losing again. but that can be a triger for some people to go back to their bad eating habits.i just got the slim and 6 videos and they have 3 jump start diets to help you lose 10lbs. in 6 days and one is for people who have stopped losing weight and need to jump start again so i'm sure if you google "on a diet stopped losing weight" a bunch of diet and help sites will come up.just becareful.Good Luck!!!!
