Help understanding serving size and calorie count plz
Today I had a Justaspud at Mcalisters Deli for lunch. I chose to eat that because I remembered checking the site and seeing that it was fairly low in calories and it is quite filling. So, today I went to get the exact calories so I can enter into TDP, and that is when I notice that is says Giant Spuds
All spuds include 2 servings per potato (which may vary in size). Both servings are represented in nutritional information. Well, it says the serving size is 14 oz which sounds about right and the calories in it are 298. I just want to make sure I am understanding the fine print correctly when it says that both servings combined are 14 oz and the total is 298 calories. I was looking at the dtp and there are a few people that entered it as 604 calories. I did not have butter or sour cream on mine. Just onions and ketchup and I didn't eat most of the skin. I am really unsure how to log this one. I don't mind logging it a bit higher just to be safe, but I can't afford to double the count, kwim? TIA! |
That is confusing, but I am guessing that the 298 is for the full potato. I looked at the site and saw that as well.
But I don't think that it counts anything OTHER than the potato so you need to log in the ketchup and onions and anything else you put on it. Probably the reason people logged it in as over 600 calories is because they put sour cream and butter on it. |
