Detox type question: Sugar Cravings.
So, I've decided to take the final step to being a bit more healthy and cut out the rest of the processed junk. So my only sources of sugar (that I can tell) will be fruit (apples, strawberries, blueberries and grapes) and 1 tsp cane sugar in the morning (for my green tea, also gets a splash of lemon juice)...will this cause me for jones for sugar more then cutting out all sources (which is like...impossible for me, fruit is yum) or will I be fine in a few days after the cravings subside (please god tell me it only takes a few days to break the cycle of pop and vending crap).

I have never found that fruits cause me any cravings problems. On the contrary, when I have 3-4 servings of fruit a day, I find it easy to have traditional desserts in small and infrequent portions. And my sweet tooth just keeps getting weaker and weaker (most desserts are tasting too sweet) even though I have lots of fruit.

Thanks Julie :D I'm glad to hear they don't cause craving problems, its going to be hard enough to stop eating them lol

Fruits are good for your heath. Don't be hesitate to eat them.

Fruit is good for you, as long as you don't try and just survive on it. I don't know about the sugar in the morning, everyone is different. That wouldn't cause me problems but if you still want to dive for coke and snickers after a few days maybe cut that out too?

In my experience, fruit suppresses the urge for me to eat not-so-healthy processed sugary things. I've found that the urge to eat processed sugary junk is much greater when I've not had enough fruit that day. |
If you find the cane sugar causing sugar cravings, you could try agave nectar instead.

Thanks everyone, I'll letcha know in a few days how it went :D

Have you tried Stevia? I love the stuff and it's natural.
