Am I being too strict?

Ok here is the deal, for the first few weeks I did really good losing weight. It was an average of 2-3 lbs a week. This month I have lost 1 lb. I have not changed things much, my exercise has increase in intensity. I went up to a 20lb kettlebell from a 10lb.

I eat an average of 1300-1500 calories a day. When I go out, like I did yesterday, I get good food but I know it is higher in calories but I make sure to chose grilled and light stuff. Yesterday I went to Starbucks and had a skinny vanilla latte and lemon pound cake (i love it). I lost 1.5lbs this morning. Now all month I have been watching everything, whole wheat, fish, lean chicken, ect. What gives? Am I not taking in enough? Am i burning more than I think?

I really need to get the GoWear fit but I just can't swing it right now since I am inbetween jobs. Any ideas on what is going on?

It is possible that you are not eating enough. You could try changing up your calories. Weight loss can definitely be a bit of trial and error.

I seem to be getting more error than trial, jk
I have tried upping it but it is hard for me to get more calories in. I already eat 2-3 snacks with meals, i eat every 2-3 hours which works great for me because I can not eat a lot at one time. I am going to be adding protein powder to my diet very soon so that may help. I just wish I knew what I was really burning.

I use fitday what other programs are good?

I use Daily Plate.. I like it better then fitday.

I was only eating around 850-1000 calories a day, I was eating a lot but everything had very few calories. The other night I had 1146 calories ( I know not enough but I am trying to step it up) Well i weighted myself that night and I thought being at night having all the food and water in me I ate I would be up a few lbs. I wasn't I was actually down a lbs since the morning. sO maybe increasing your calories does help to lose.

I will give this one a try, I like that it tells you how many calories to eat unlike Fitday. It says I need 1465 without exercise so that could be the problem. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks

eviemc - I am wondering if, I myself am over doing it. I love exercising but never knew it till I tried it. Now 7 weeks later, an hour a day is nothing to me. An ocasional added walk in the evening is great too. I sometimes wonder if I am doing too much. I experiment a little here and there and switch up my work out routine. My calories vary from day to day. One day I will have 1200 the next I will have 1600. I have had days up to 1900 or 2000 but my average ios about 1400. I stalled on the scale for about a week but lost a pound shortly after. It seems I the scale has slowed the last couple weeks overall and I get a little distraut over it but I know my body is changing, I am losing, and I am healthier so I keep going. I hope everything works out for you and you find what works best for you!

I had this problem, upped my calories but a few hundred and boom next week I lost 1.5 lbs, hoping to see another loss this week :)

I don't see why it's so hard to up calories. Eat some protein, a grilled chicken breast adds a few hundred calories alone. Or like an ounce of cheese is 100 calories, and so on.

Phyxius79- I totally understand, I now love to exercise and so does my family. I workout for 30mins to 1 hr a day, not on Sundays. Then some days my family and I go on a 1 mile walk after dinner or we play tennis. Sometimes I just wish I knew how much I was burning. A good friend of mine, who is a runner, told me that I burn a lot more than I think because of my weight being more muscle than the standard overweight person.

I think that we use the calories as a old style of thinking. You have to starve to lose weight but it is just not true and I am having to change my thinking around. I am trying DailyPlate out and they say without exercise I need 1400+ calories to lose 2lbs per week. So I am going to make a plan for that and add in protein shakes for when I lift weights and other high protein snacks for when I do just cardio. We will see.
