This Past Weekend
We had a conference to attend. That meant eating out and not exactly knowing where, so researching resturants online to see nutritional info was practically out of the question. I bought this little book at walmart that has lots of nut. info for tons of foods and restaurants. It fits in my purse. So I brought it along.
I can tell you that I was over on my calories the whole weekend, but I didn't overeat or make dumb choices. I tried to make healthy choices and fill up on salad and veggies when I could. So despite the fact that I went over on calories I'm still happy and content that I was able to make good decisions. I feel not the least little bit of guilt about it. ;) The thing that I noticed the most was I just couldn't eat as much as what I used to be able to eat. I'm pretty excited about that. At home its hard to notice that kind of thing because I always measure everything out. I don't just throw food on my plate and hope that I eat the correct portion. But it is like that in restaurants. They bring you your plate and you just have to guess how much is a portion and hope you are right. |
It sounds like you handled the weekend well. Since we are trying to develop a healthy eating lifestyle we have to learn to handle these types of situations. Congratulations on being full from eating less! That is great!

Isn't that cool? I can no longer eat the huge portions that I was eating only 2 months ago. A bunch of us from work go to a Thai restaurant from time to time; maybe once a month. We went last week and I decided to have the dry-rub BBQ pork because it seemed to be a fairly smart choice. They brought my plate and it was PILED HIGH with pork--way too much for one serving. But I used to plow through that easily! I felt FULL when I ate half of it (saved the other half for the next day's lunch) and I was really thankful that my poor old abused stomach has apparently gone back to its old, un-stretched out size over the past couple of months. |
Great Job eating the best you could this past weekend with the choices you had.
I have only been measuring and counting calories for one week and I get full a lot easier now. Plus I like that fact I am eating more food choices then i wold before. I am not a big Veggie person besides corn, green beans and broccoli. Lately I have had carrots peas red & green peppers Zucchini(I can't spell it cause I don't eat it.) It's Awesome! |
