How do you count calories with stomach virus?

Hey there to everyone out there. I thought I saw a post about this once before but I couldn't find it, so I apologize in advance for asking about this.

I've had the stomach flu for the past 2 days which includes diarrhea and everything I've eaten has stayed down. I'm still logging everything that I eat and counting the calories. Should I count the calories that I'm eating even if it isn't staying down?

The worst part seems to be over and I'm taking some medicine and today has been much better..

Personally, I believe that when you've got such a virus, there's no need to count and no need not to - do whatever is most comfortable to you mentally. However, I also believe that it's not the time to worry too much about eating too much or too little, try to let your body tell you what you need. If you're hungry, eat. If you're not hungry, don't eat.

If you want to have a complete food log, then go ahead and count the calories. But, seriously, you're sick!!!! :barf:

Our bodies have entirely different mechanisms when under attack that have nothing to do with how they respond-or burn calories-when operating properly.

Cut yourself some slack, have some tea and broth, and concentrate on feeling better.:getwell:
