Hey guys. I just had a tiny question. A couple months back when I wasn't watching my weight, I used to drink Redbull occasionally. Now that I've been great counting my calories and losing weight, I've had a Redbull Sugar free. Does anyone else drink it? It has 10 cals per can, 0g of fat and 0g of sugar. BUT there are 200 mg of sodium!!! Would you say this is still not such a wise choice and I should totally give it up? Or, drinking one on occasion is not so bad? Thanks
Yeah, the can does say it contains Phenylalanine, and that cant be good. I just dont like coffee or tea usually, so sometimes I would end up drinking this.
just like there are a million diets- it just depends on what's important to you. i love caffeine and don't watch my sodium intake so I drink sugarfree redbull! but if sodium and (like steallart said) all the other stuff that goes into redbull are a concern to you... pass!
i only live once though, i'm still going to live! (within reason) haha
If you are used to drinking regular RedBull consistently the SF won't have much of an effect at first. Since there is no sugar in it it doesn't give you a huge burst of energy. I prefer it that way because then there isn't a sugar crash. I drink it occasionally when I really need it.
I agree, if you were drinking regular redbull before and are not watching sodium, it shouldn't be a problem. I starting drinking SF redbull and vodka to try to keep up with my now husband and his friends, as they were in grad school at the time and could stay up until all hours of the night while I was working and struggled to stay up late. That and I hate diet coke and SF redbull is the only other diet friendly mixer that is widely available at the bars
Do you have a history of hypertension or heart disease in your family? If so I would watch my intake especially if you drink them regularly. If not I wouldn't worry too much.
I used to LOVE Redbull....drank the SF a few times a week, no problem. On occasion I suffered from nausea and vomiting, but did not apply it to the drink, just figured it was the flu....Then 2 4th of Julys ago, I had one before I took my daughter to see the fireworks. Within 3 hours I was ill....Well, ill is an understatement. I began getting sick uncontrollably in my jeep in a bag, I couldn't even go get my family to tell them that I was in trouble. I finally got them and we made it to the first gas station where I ended up being sick in the bathroom for an hour. We finally made it home and it continued for the rest of the night. My doctor said it was an allergy to the Taurine that's in the energy drinks, even though I had drank it on a regular basis. He said it's common. I just wanted to forewarn in case anyone drinking them begins to get the nausea warning signs....I miss them, and my friend can drink them day and night no problem, but my body just can't handle them
Wow, I didn't know that. Thanks. And no, my family doesn't have a history of hypertension or heart disease, and I only have a Redbull once in a while, so I guess I should be fine. Thanks!
mmm i had to get some sugar free red bull at the store last night! haha i didn't drink them yet though... i think i just missed buying them. but there there are in my fridge...
peer pressure!!
nah not really, i'm drinking hot tea now and i think it might actually taste better to me now.. yay progress!
