Super Bowl!
What's everybody going to do for the Super Bowl?
I just put a huge batch of fajitas in the crockpot - cut all the fat off of a big round steak & cut it into strips, then added a ton of onion & pepper strips, lime juice & seasonings. My hubby & his pals can have it with tortillas, sour cream & all the fixings; I'm having mine w/ no tortillas, plain fat-free yogurt, & salsa. I am not sure on the exact calorie count, but figure I'll weigh it & count 60 cals/oz for the meat & 10 cal/oz for the veggies - does that sound reasonable? What are the rest of you fixing for the big game? |
Hey Sue-Bee! Sounds yummy!
I posted elsewhere as well, but some of what we've got going consists of: -bunless burgers with salad -Doritos in single-serving portions -nonalcoholic beer (I like the taste, but I don't drink alcohol) -celery stick! Yum! I love them. -Easy Cheese -single-serving portions of cashews, almonds, peanuts -oh yes, I forgot, popcorn So, that's going to be a lot even though it's all measured amounts. I'm taking it easy the rest of the day, concentrating on protein and keeping the fat cals down. About Doritos: It has taken me literally years to get to the point where I can have Doritos in the house and not eat every. last. one of them at once. :cheer2: But I do have to divide every bag into 1-oz. servings, so that my mushy estimating isn't in charge. Su-bee and JayEll, both your treats sound great!
For my fiance I'm making hot dogs wrapped in crescent rolls, using Hebrew National 97% fat free hot dogs and reduced fat crescent rolls. I'll be having a hot dog, no rolls. I'm also making 7 layer bean dip with refried black beans (Trader Joes), salsa, low fat sour cream, guacamole, corn, and low fat cheddar cheese. I'm making my own chips out of whole wheat tortillas cut up and baked in the oven and got the multigrain tortilla chips for my fiance. I'm also making low fat sour cream onion dip and veggies and a fruit salad. Have fun! I actually don't care about football but I love making the snacks! |
I put three chicken breasts in the crockpot with lime juice, chili powder and come cilantro salsa. I'm going to shred it and make some low-cal nachos!
I'm also doing the jalapeno swappers from hungry girl, de-pudged pigs in a blanket and veggies with fat free sour cream ranch dip. I'm also thinking of making some 100 cal portioned bbq chicken skewers. :) |
