Only 800 calories today. Enough?

I accidentally skipped breakfast this morning, and I ended up having fewer cals @ lunch, dinner, and snack than I normally do. I usually shoot for 1200-1600 cals. I'm a little hungry, so I'll probably have a yogurt, so that's about 80 more cals. Should I eat something else?

As a fellow calorie counter,I have always read that you should not go under 1200 calories a day if at all possible~And thats the very lowest limit.(but Im no expert)
I would think you would have lots more energy for tommorrow if you reach your calorie level you normally eat.

thin, I regularly calorie cycle..some days I just want more food than other days..I wouldn't be concerned about it..you will have a day soon you want more and you can remember this day that you were so low.. :) do you keep a food journal? I find it really helps me.

If you feel satisfied & low calorie days aren't a regular thing for you, I wouldn't force yourself to eat. Like Thighs said - this way it balances out if you have a heavier day later on in the week!

That's a great idea. It's pretty easy to correlate cravings or off plan eating to a low calorie day when it happens that same evening. But if it's the next day or evening that your hunger spikes, it's not as easy to correlate without a journal.

Yeah, I do. I'm starting to see a pattern where if I don't drink diet soda, I eat a lot less. Thanks guys, I'll keep it under 1000 today, and keep an eye on how it effects me.

Hi Thin - I have that problem too sometimes - but I tend to make up for the low calorie days at the weekend! its funny how you seem to rememebr the bad days and not the good.

Although the general rule is not to go below 1200, dropping under for a day or even two days probably won't hurt. You just don't want it to become habitual.

Good luck! :cheer2:
Jay
