Had to laugh at hubby!

He is making dinner and just brought me the nutrition facts off the side of a box. LOL! He knows I'm going to ask so I can record it so he just brought it to me before I could. I've got him TRAINED. ;)

hahahaha :woohoo: yay for hubby support!!

beerab 01-15-2009 06:39 PM

lol nice!

My poor hubby- he told me once a bag of chips had 150 calories in it.

I looked over at him and said "it says 150 calories PER SERVING and you just ate three servings..."

He was like CRAP lol.

Haha that is the cutest. My bf last night at the grocery store held up one of those hefty pre-packaged caesar salads and said "look, only 170 calories."

yeahhh for how many servings?
...there were 3.5 servings in the one salad. yikes! :fr:

My husband put a piece of cheese on a grilled sandwich I was having and I threw a fit. He didn't realize there was 70 calories in 1 little slice and didn't think it was a big deal at all. 70 is a HUGE deal when it's just an extra on a sandwich and not necessarily needed. He's been great at only using what I say or at least telling me EVERYTHING he uses down to the teaspoon.

blackbutterfly 01-15-2009 07:39 PM

that is cute :P

sometimes they just make you go "awww" :)
My fiance now tries to count how many servings of different types of foods he has in a day... "I should put some more vegetables because i only had 1 cup earlier" or "I already had 2 starches today so i should have ___ instead"

.... but he swears he will not go on a diet. lol

JulieJ08 01-15-2009 08:07 PM

I love it, that is so cute. :)

AngelMae 01-15-2009 08:12 PM

Haha that is cute. My SO always says, "Want me to save the box so you can get the calories off it?" Haha men are soooo funny!

michelle7 01-15-2009 10:33 PM

Love it! :-)

brookypooh 01-15-2009 11:25 PM

That bugs me to NO END!

I went to the store the other day to get something for lunch- and I walk over to the salads- and I'm like oh okay 200 calories- but then it's 2 servings in the salad. I'm like DUDE I wouldn't mind if these were packaged in SINGLE SERVINGS!

I say we start a revolution so companies package things in single servings lol.

My husband thinks a whole box of cookies is a serving or a whole bag of chips is a serving- and so on.

When I eat now he says "is that a snack?" lol.

I agree. No hubby here (not even a boyfriend) but I wish they would package things in single servings. My biggest beef is drink servings. You cannot find 6 ounce or 8 ounce servings *anywhere* anymore. Not even for a cup of coffee.

Fortunately, I am old enough to remember they used to do that, once upon a time.

beerab 01-16-2009 11:01 AM

See that's how I feel- I mean okay maybe you are trying to save packaging by making larger portions- but then I won't buy it anymore! lol.

I prefer to make my own salads anyway- much less calories with my lite dressings.

Starbucks has a "short" - it's 8 oz :) You have to ask for it, it's not up on the big board. My friend always gets a short.

My big gripe is Jamba Juice. Their small is 16 oz and no child size! I don't need THAT much juice! Now my boyfriend gets a big one, we get an extra cup and he just pours a little into my cup.

beerab 01-16-2009 04:22 PM

I have gone to the starbucks near my house and I believe they have a mini size also- I usually get their Jamba light stuff in the smallest size- less than 200 calories if I remember correctly (I haven't gone in like a year).

My husband is not yet trained. He made dinner the other night, when I got home from work he had the kids eating bacon, fried eggs and hash browns ( no he cannot cook anything but that!). I had a bowl of cereal Ha

beerab 01-20-2009 02:06 PM

lol MJSinMT. Yes last night my husband "made" dinner.

Cheesy hot dogs with baked beans (from a can) :p

Today I'm making dinner- chicken and asparagus lol.

slowie 01-23-2009 11:53 AM

Hey, I'm new to this forum but I love it so far.

My hubby is getting pretty well trained. Saving labels and waiting for me to weigh stuff before he goes at it. <3 It really helps to have that support.

He only complains a little. :)

I also got him to take his cookies to work instead of keeping them in the house. It is so much easier to avoid temptation when it isn't staring you in the face! Too bad he won't give up the constant supply of ice cream...

MissLoud 01-24-2009 11:11 PM

I know what you mean - You really have to check the packaging every time. I do have to laugh at my friend though - one of them was going on that the packet of sweets she was eating was 99% fat free - mmm 100% sugar though love - bless her.

Totally off the subject - but I'm sooooo over salads! I think I'm going to turn into a rabbit. Any sugestions for quick easy lunches under 250 calories??
