what is your weigh in routine?

  • My husband just pointed out how hilarious I am when I weigh in- I posted this in the 300+ forum too because I am a member of that group but since I'm also a calorie counter I thought it would be fun to post it here too!

    my routine is I always do it first thing in the morning because I truly believe I weigh less in the morning..

    -I wake up-stumble outta bed
    -go to the bathroom push out every possible thing I can from my bladder and bowels... LOL
    -wont drink or eat a bite until I've weighed in- not even a sip of water
    -strip down naked no socks even
    -take out any hair bands bobby pins what ever I might have in my hair
    -remove all jewelry including wedding rings- oh and my glasses..lol
    -fully exhale-hold breath
    -step on the scale....LOL
    -repeat until i get the same number twice! LOL
    -go update my ticker and my info on the daily plate and here! blog about it on my myspace!

    is any one else as anal as me?
  • I do the same exact thing as you, but since it is the AM I don't have anything in my hair or my jewerly on I have a nice WW scale, so one time one the scale usually works for me!

    I have to get the same number twice to believe the scale is right.

  • I really do try to JUST weigh once a week, every Sunday but, sometimes the temptation is just to great and I hop on the scale after I pee. I keep telling myself I am going to "hide" the scale from my sight but, I am yet to do this.
  • I am with you! My routine is almost exactly like yours. Differences - I leave my glasses on because I could not see what the scale says without them. In addition, I have to get the same weight for three days in a row before I count it.

    I could use a new scale but hate to change because I know I will weigh more on a new scale. The old one still lets me know that I am on a downward trend.
  • Roll out of bed, strip PJs off, hop on scale, cuss like a salty sailor or smile sweetly (depending), write down weight on calendar hanging by scale.

    I used to be more anal and have more ritual, but I've weighed in everyday for over a year and it's becoming a little less dramatic. Thank gawd!

    however, i do find i eat less the morning of a weigh in (i weigh monday evenings now) and i always try to go to the toilet more often than i would do usually before i get weighed. hee hee though i think that's a natural reaction to knowing i have to step on the scales.

    i wear the exact same clothes each week too. and i know how much they weigh from me wearing nothing too sad right?
  • I wake up and go to the bathroom. Then I step on the scal with whatever I wore to bed on. Usually a pair of pj pants and a tshirt. I like to see the same number a couple days in a row before I record it. I step on and off until I get the same number twice too. Sometimes it takes like 5 time too! LOL! Darn scale.
  • I only write down my Friday weights. I will mvoe my ticker if I see something a few days in a row though. Not that that's happened lately....
  • somewhat "anal" about it and I do have a ritual, wake up, use bathroom, walk to scale wearing T shirt and boxers and get on 3 times, I use the highest weight usually. I do this every day besides the weekends and I record the weight on Friday on an excel sheet that I use as well as my blog which is listed in my sig.

  • Haha same! I only do it once a week. I usually even wait until I hear my stomach growl before I weigh myself. I have to leave on my glasses though cause I can't even SEE the number on the scale without them.
  • Boy this sounds so familiar. I do the same very, very first thing in the morning within 5 minutes of waking up.

    But I have TWO scales because who knows one might be reading me wrong...good grief.

    One is mechanical and tends to weigh me a pound lighter than my Tanita electronic scale which tells me my percent of body fat.

    Try to weigh only twice a week for my own mental health.
  • Haha! I am weighing myself for the first time tomorrow AM (I am also convinced I weight less in the morning) and I also use the bathroom, remove all heavy jewelry (you know, the big diamonds and such and I leave my pj's on. I don't like to weigh myself naked because if I were ever in too big a hurry to strip down, then I might disappoint myself, lol.

    I only weigh myself one time a week and one time at that time, it has never occurred to me the scale could be wrong. It's digital and tells me my fat%, my H2O% and muscle mass.
